  1. I quite like the YouTube videos I’ve seen of people playing it. I think you can with up to 4 or 8 people online. However, I don’t think the game will ever be commercially available outside of Japan, not available for anything other than PS4.
  2. Okay, since there seems to be quite a lot of interest in this; please respond to the following questions. Do you like the idea of a Totallympics Summer Games? A) YES B) NO Would you participate in the Totallympics Summer Games if they were held? A) YES B) NO What would you like to see included on the program for a Totallympics Summer Games? - Answer on own
  3. Yes, that’d be the idea if we were to include that on the program.
  4. Story from imagined vision of the further world.
  5. Came across another possibility to add to the program. The eSailing game World Sailing uses for their Virtual World Cup is completely free download and play, and there’s the option for custom races in private lobbies. That’d be something worth checking out if people are interested in this idea.
  6. Okay, so I decided to make this thread on @ahjfcshfghb recommendation, and comment I saw from @dcro in the TISC thread about the special contest in the summer. @dcro had suggested doing a few competitions during what would have been this year’s Summer Olympic Games. I had offered to try and run a Summer Games in Minecraft using the venues I’d built. I’d also to be open to any other suggestions people I have. One possibility might be to do some events from the official Olympic videos games (Mobile/Console). The games would be complete with a logo, mascot, motto, hopefully some form of “reward”, etc.; as well as full streaming (when possible), a results page, info page, medal table, etc. I think this is actually a fun idea, and there are multiple ways we could go about pulling something like this off. I’d be totally down to organize and host the games (and I’d welcome anyone else who’d want to help out). I also think members could contribute in many ways, and I’d be a great way to end a rather lack luster summer. I encourage people to make their thoughts on the matter known below. As I said above, I think this, or something like it (it definitely doesn’t have to be exactly as I proposed) would be a great event for the community, and I’d be a great way to bring users together for some fun days of competition. So discuss below.
  7. I really like the third song @Vektor
  8. I’ve spent way too much time on trying to prove that wrong, but the options are indeed limited. The problem with option one is that I need at least 6-7 people to make it fun/worth my time. So 1 person (you) seems down to try it, and another user seemed willing to try it. I can look around for more players, but I know for certain that we’ll need more than 2/3.
  9. Why? People can still be allowed to do things on their own. If people show up to watch (after being told/asked/warned not to) arrest their ass (or more realistically, just have them leave).
  10. Yeah, it is. It shouldn’t be that shocking since the US ranks rather low in terms of education standards amongst 1st world countries. We typically had to read 6-8 novels a year, 1-3 plays, 4-6 short stories, and probably dozen or more poems (but this is in the hardest, most rigorous English classes in the country). There’s absolutely no time to enjoy the readings or discuss about them in great critical detail. For instance, we only spent a week of discussion on a book like Animal Farm (where a good discussion should probably take a few weeks). We also wrote a ton of research papers, timed essays (generally you had to read a short story/poem, and were given 45 minutes or 1 hour to analyze it with a 5 paragraph essay complete with a thesis and evidence), poems, and some other papers. I read a lot of poetry (and write a lot of poetry as well) in school and nowadays as well. I tend not to really care or notice who wrote a poem. Poems are more about message and substance more than trivia knowledge or narrator facts (unless revealed by the poem itself). We read some contemporary literature, but focused more on classic literature (which is fine because I prefer classic literature). My favorite novels/stories were Things Fall Apart, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, and Ella Minnow Pea (which you’ll never have heard, and never understand unless you really understand the gramatical rules of literature). There isn’t really much I didn’t like, I probably wouldn’t be a communications student if I didn’t appreciate language, novels, stories, etc. There’s short story I liked, but it was on a national test, so I’m contracted not to talk about it. I was a really fun story/essay to analyze though. It had to do with how the way we sit (and what we sit on) can infer a lot of about our social status, emotions, etc. I’d be willing to talk more about it in DMs (I could probably find the story if you’re interested). Yes. I agree with that. I’d add that there is some cinema that can’t be replaced by written word either.
  11. Right, but we’ve only grown up in hard times: 9/11, Iraqi and Afghan Wars (both of which many of parents), Great Recession, School Shootings, Trump, impacts of climate change, and now this Pandemic. I’m sorry generation that your generation just excepted that the world was shit and always be, and there’s nothing we can do to change that; but my generation disagrees. Most of these issues are/were preventable, but your generation failed in the mantle of leadership. As Chernobyl ends “the truth is resolute. The truth catches up to laziness, lies, and false leaders.”
  12. This is why my generation has problems with your generation. Y’all just down play issues constantly. I feel like this is more of a misunderstanding, but I’ll gladly trade places in shooter drills with someone.
  13. No, that’s not what the article is arguing. It’s saying that domestic issues have contributed to the self-identity of Gen Z.
  14. In itself? No. Used as a function for an event? Yes. I’m feeling more like option 2 will be a bigger challenge, but that it would be better in the long run.
  15. We can thank what we learned from unbridled capitalism for that
  16. I don’t how saying that numerous crises have affected a group of people is self-centered...
  17. Yep. This is probably the best explanation of why most people in my generation either swing hard left, hard right, or have a total lack of belief in any form of public services/offices/etc.
  18. Alright, I’m little surprised by the initial response (fully expected no one to care, so this is going better than expected ). I’m going to leave the discussion open for another day or two before I really start making some decisions. For now it seems like the 2nd idea has good amount of support. However, there’s also some interest in the 1st, so I’ve start very preliminary planning for both. I still love for users to give their opinions (check the last page for post), so I can gauge a little more of the support for one idea or the other.
  19. What is it with tennis athletes and fringe ideas right now. https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1093404/fabio-fognini-tennis-italy-coronavirus
  20. Like it or not, the IOC counts YOG medals as medals as Olympic medals, so his medal counts.
  21. I’m not as educated about Autism as I should be, but I know there’s a multitude of different “disorders” within the spectrum. So maybe some of those are rated more serious than others. Aspergers v. Down Syndrome for instance. Of course these labels are somewhat troublesome really because I know quite a few people on the spectrum that are doing much better (keeping distance, listening to experts, etc.) than those not on the spectrum.
