  1. I’m slowly crumbling apart as a human right now. I’ve overloaded myself, and now I’m looking right in the face of a hellish last half of the month. I’m always a little annoying or extra, but when I’m tried I just turn into a straight asshole.
  2. I’m being a moronic asshole, please delete.
  3. Thailand will bid for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games: https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1094280/thailand-2026-youth-olympic-games-bid They will join Colombia who already entered the race a while back, and most likely India and Russia who have also shown interest in bidding.
  4. Oh, I could have sworn it was in New Mexico since that’s where most people go to “visit” it. Edit: I just realized that I’m confusing the “Roswell UFO sightings/crash” with Area 51.
  5. Okay, so just a little explanation courtesy of @Dragon. He gave me this info when we were planning the future of Totallympics Media. He joined OlyMADmen in 2008, and for a while they licensed out their data from their private Olympedia database to SR. Then the IOC bought out their data in 2016. Here’s an article about that acquisition: https://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2017/02/27/Olympics/Olympedia.aspx Since then the IOC allowed allowed SR/Olympics to stay open until the new website was ready. The plan was for the IOC database to be ready by 2020, but IOC changed their digital strategy, and so there’s a been a delay. Dragon is hopeful the data will be published before Tokyo 2020 next year.
  6. Area 51 is in New Mexico, it’s a little bit of a stretch.
  7. Not really. That area is pretty uninhabited outside of some very small rural towns. The only cities that seemed to have felt the earthquake were Las Vegas, Reno, and maybe Fresno or Sacramento. We felt nothing down in Southern California.
  8. I would imagine the graphics would read “Richard Pound” unfortunately...
  9. Have the NRL gotten over their drama yet? I saw that Queensland gave one of the players and exemption, but what about the other two?
  10. What were you trying to correct?
  11. Bach took two steps, hopped into a rocket, blasted off to space, and set foot on the moon There is a long list of policies Bach has imposed that I like, but there’s a nearly equally long list of policies that even I can’t get behind.
  12. This is one of the rare times where you and I will disagree I think. The Winter Olympics are for winter sports, not for summer sports masquerading as winter sports. I want more nations to compete at the Winter Olympics, but we shouldn’t have to ruin the games to achieve that.
  13. The point of the Winter Games was to give true winter sports an event of their own though. These new “sports” might improve the universality of the Winter Olympics, but they could very well kill all the true winter sports, which is not acceptable in my opinion.
  14. I’ve always been a Bach supporter, but the last 2-3 years have really made me lose faith in him. If I got to vote for the next IOC President, I’d vote for Pound.
  15. Is anyone else unable to download PDFs from Internet Archive now?
  16. The IOC needs to put their foot in the snow, and tell these federations off. We don’t need summer sports in the Winter Olympics. I like the concept of the World Beach Games/World Urban Games, focus your shity ideas on that.
  17. Which we learned during the worst press conference in IOC history ?
  18. The exact same thing is going to happen all over the US within the next week
  19. I agree it’s unfair to compare Slovakia and United States, but it’s not completely unfair to compare policies and government reaction/strategies. That’s a place where there’s a lot of difference between nations, and it may be helpful to study which responses and measures have worked the best globally.
  20. One word: Cowbells Well, they’re unique. I can’t say I like them, but I think they’ll grow on me.
  21. Katie Hill stepped down a few months ago after a vicious sex scandal that her husband started (He basically leaked everything about her private life, it so vicious that many Republicans came out in defense of her). The primary served as the first round for this special election, and for the federal elections in November. I don’t think the Democratic Party will win then either though.
  22. Yeah, that’s the district next to me. It’s known for its far-right and far-left voters. Last time an ultra progressive won, and this time an ultra conservative won The Democratic Party did a terrible job of campaigning, but there that position will be up for election again in November.
  23. Ah, now I can cheer for him at major competitions I think California has one of the highest densities when it comes to producing world class athletes.
  24. It’s also worth noting that our building style is much different than Asia and Europe. Unless your in the downtown (city center) part of a major city in the U.S., people’s properties a more spread out, and have less inhabitants.
