Giacomel has always had a great results at Antholz, so with this form, he can dominate there, and maybe Italy will finally have a hero, like France once had Fourcade, or more recently Marchand. I have dreamed of this all my life. And I think that we actually deserved it, that we have to spend so much money on host these current Olympics and only listen to some mockery from the journalist from the UK or the USA

Giacomel and E.Oeberg win the Oberhof sprints. Some snow but not many misses - as usual in Oberhof.

Quasit reacted to copravolley in Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup 2025 - 2026
We'll see, however, what the difference is between a true skiing powerhouse, like Switzerland or Austria, which can turn a solid skier like Rast into a World Cup winner. There's no Gut phenomenon, but what's the problem, when we create another great girl, even if with less potential? Austria did the same with Scheib, the USA with Moltzan, etc. Meanwhile, Italy got a great talent just for free- Colturi, who was always outside the Italian training system- and we still messed everything up and lost her. And after Brignone and Bassino, we don't have anyone on the podium in the giant slalom. I'm sure that Lara della Mea in Switzerland would now be achieving results on par with Rast (and they're the same age) or Moltzan. They simply know how to do it, not just improvise like us.
And here? There was Tomba, Compagnoni, then Brignone, now Colturi, but do you think anyone knows why such talents emerged here? No. We're just hoping for luck, but how many times can you be lucky? And even when we are lucky, we stumble over our own feet, like with Colturi. Well, it's hard to call it anything other than a nation of losers

Quasit reacted to copravolley in Ski Jumping FIS World Cup 2025 - 2026
She's already achieved top-10 in several competitions on single rounds, so it's no a huge surprise. Canada and China are showing that success in women's ski jumping is possible even without a tradition in the sport. It's just a shame Italy can't do something similar – we have quite a strong tradition in women's ski jumping – we even had a World Championship medal in 2011.
But this is yet another winter discipline that demonstrates that hosting home games literally benefits nothing fot Italy and this is unfortunately due to our incompetence. I would also understand someone specializing, like the Netherlands and simply abandoning most snow sports: cross- country, ski- jumping, alpine skiing, etc., but not this shit, what we do now: look at ski jumping, cross-country skiing and nordic combined.

It's a shame Pellegrino wasn't in the top 3... Davide Graz's form is hard to explain – he's probably sick again, but is it normal for a professional athlete to be constantly sick?
After Markus Cramer's 4 years in office, only Caterina Ganz remains at a decent-good level. The rest are even worse than they were at this time in 2022. I can't rate this job positively in anyway.

I'm 100% certain that if girls from USA were in 15th or 17th place, no one in the USA would even be watching this sport. There's interest when Vonn, Shiffrin, or earlier Miller wins. Nobody there cares about any lower rankings.

Yep, the amount of emergency services I heard at some point was a little extreme (for our little town), so I checked what was going on and saw they were all being called to a specific location. Until then I thought maybe it was part of a parade of trucks and agricultural vehicles that was on it's way from the next town over, decorated with lights and stuff.
Since I knew it was on the parade route, I was sure one of those big vehicles had hit people somehow (there were, besides the many vehicles, also two helicopters on the way, meaning it certainly wasn't about a single victim).
We picked our bikes and went to take a look, absolutely chaos in the area. Never saw so many services combined together, fire trucks from 20km away, ambulance after ambulance came racing by, people frantically trying to make way for them (the roads weren't really closed yet).
While there we heard someone who had been close say that the parade hadn't arrived yet and what seemed to have happened was that a car from the other side came onto the roundabout and simply never turned. "It's a massive drama over there, unbelievable", he said.
Quite quickly rumours started spreading of course, the first one turned out to be true: a middle aged (local) woman was behind the wheel and seems to have become unwell. Local security camera showed the car going at high speed right before the roundabout.
Plenty of rumours going around in terms of who were involved of course, and people keeping each other up to date to see if they know this or that family and such...
Never expected my little town to be big news in the Netherlands, even including some breaking broadcasts, live reporters and everything, damn. By far the biggest thing to happen here in my memory

Yesterday he finished 15th and was slow timong in cross country, so it was hard to praise him. He still miss of stability, although he very like route in Anterselva, so I'm still hope on his dominance there. Hopefully. Now, there isn`t a some monsters, as Fourcade, or J. Boe, or Bjoerndalen, etc, and many people have a chance to win gold.
