  1. Downhills are going to be....interesting. Due to the weather, the snow is very soft and so the skis go deep into the snow. Especially the downhills, which are mostly in the sunny part and are already challenging by itself, are going to be a challenge because of this.
  2. At least it was no Marco Morgenstern
  3. Wow, I know Lesser has been in bad, bad shape, but I've never seen him this completely exhausted. It's like the cyclist who gets a 'hunger attack' on a long climb and gets passed by everyone and their grandma... Quite obviously something is wrong with him here, no way this is just a matter of not being in shape.
  4. Liensberger! What a moment (and way!) to take that first (real, non-parallel) win
  5. First Vlhova run of the season where the Dutch commentator says nothing about the extra muscle weight she added during the summer
  6. Right, time for the fight for gold
  7. Shiffrin with a last-ditch effort to extend her reign as world champion to double digits.
  8. Cool to see Asa Ando so happy with losing (only) three places
  9. Because she didn't really perform anything special there before this season I would guess.
  10. Preuss was just as dead not 300 meters earlier and found a sprint out of her tiniest toe in the last 200 meters.
  11. Wow, Preuss showing the definition of being a pure fighter
  12. Ah right, last year it wasn't shown on Eurosport neither. Dumb rights stuff, minus one for every location the World Cup goes to which isn't part of some general World Cup rights deal, hopefully they don't return to Rasnov anymore (at least until this is settled).
  13. Am I right that the whole thing wasn't even on Eurosport or their Player? That's...odd
  14. Ah, the most humiliating months in US presidential history are over now that Trump's insanity has moved to the background somewhat, so Trumpists start to come out of their shells again with a focus on anti-Biden instead of pro-Trump all over the internet now (even more than usual) How unexpected
  15. Thanks, now I know to take all comments regarding Schwazer, both coming from the anti-Schwazer WADA side and the pro-Schwazer Italian side, with a truckload of salt Luckily he's a race walker, so there's basically no chance there'll be anything about this in the media here
  16. Smashes his face against an ice wall with those speeds: "Oh, crikey!"
  17. Japan and China have withdrawn from the world championships, South Korea had never registered in the first place.
  18. Wow, Eurosport and the Eurosport Player are disappointing today....Australian Open semi on ES1, which is sad but understandable of course. However, snowboard cross live on ES2 (a regular World Cup) instead of the world championships, that's just nonsense. "Right, at least there's the Player." Nope, it was not live on the Player...not with and not without commentary, just a 40-minute broadcast that started 20 minutes ago or so and which will obviously only show the skiers we already see in the World Cup all the time, whereas events like this are extra cool because one can see those from 'exotic' nations. Not this time though.
  19. Not sure about weekends, but I'd definitely like to give it a try
  20. The only other discipline is the women's skeleton and even that is more diverse in terms of nations having competitive sliders Podiums this season (italic means at least one win): Men LAT RUS GER GBR KOR AUT Women AUT RUS GER NED CZE LAT CAN With the women also having Belgium, Italy, Great Britain and USA being somewhat close to a podium position at some point during the season. Just to clarify: I'm not disagreeing with you finding it a shame the quotas have been cut, quota cuts almost always suck
  21. The greatest, compared to what? I mean, there's like 4,5 significantly competitive countries at the top level...
