  1. I tried this for a bit a while ago, coincidentally I just deleted the app a few days ago Excellent idea, although I'd have liked if there were not only local stations but also more 'national' radio stations. For example even for the Netherlands I basically only saw radio stations I'd never heard of, the most local of local things, which I found a little disappointing since I wanted to listen to the relatively big/main radio stations from other countries in one place. The whole idea behind it is quite awesome though, indeed.
  2. That was received as excellent news here The main problem (for the team) was her joining the team to the Czech Republic after travelling by train (despite the trains not being very busy and her probably taking more care than anyone else for a long time now). Trust me, the cancellation of those races made an enormous shitload of doubts and complications disappear Meanwhile she finally managed to travel out of here and towards competition areas yesterday morning. We put her on a train trip towards the Oberstdorf region and since the German railways are....not the very greatest in the world, within 5 minutes of departure I already saw there were sudden major issues on her route, so I spent the rest of the Sunday (succesfully!) navigating her from train to train and steering clear of all the trouble. Fun fact: all the delays and the subsequent changes in routes and trains meant she ended up at her destination nearly one hour earlier than originally planned because the detours were done with the fast ICE trains Anyhow, our resident Olympic hopeful has made it to the Oberstdorf area yesterday afternoon and is, for all intents and purposes, ready to race at the world championships!
  3. Jesus what a race
  4. Time for Nils van der Poel, let's see what the insane hype of the past two months will bring
  5. Meanwhile rumour has it poor old Janne Hänninen is still going out on every 400m track he can find to skate 500m under 35.00 seconds...
  6. Wow, insane 5k by Schouten
  7. Yeah, importing the points (not the finish results) seemed to be the biggest issue. It's alright for one or two races, but typing that in manually for dozens of races throughout the season...there's just a major lack of time. I've tried converting their PDF's with the points, but it always ends up being skewed one way or another.
  8. Where the fuck did Baumann go
  9. And he sticks the landing!
  10. A ranking with the following input: - Every single IBU Qualifying points result (for the qualifying period, which I don't know in my mind what exactly it is) for all sprints and individuals in the World Cup, IBU Cup and their respective championships, like this document: https://ibu.blob.core.windows.net/docs/2021/BT/SWRL/CH__/SMSP/C74Q_v1.pdf And the following output: - A ranking (with athletes, not nations) with I believe the average of each athlete's five best results. It could also be the average of the three best results, I'd have to check.
  11. No worries, because of the problems about joining the team suddenly appearing today, we had already scratched the hope of her competing there. We've spent the past few hours making alternative plans, for now the plan is to go to a place near Oberstdorf tomorrow (there's a Brazilian couple living near who are willing to help with driving around and such), and stay on her own there for a week or so. Let's see if this plan sticks.
  12. Huge, huge Brazilian record (FIS points in European snow races, not counting free points in Brazilian rollerski races) for Manex Silva in Austria today! https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=38497 Presumably it's not going to be enough for him to get the Olympic ticket yet, since there will be races in Brazil during the year where his opponents can get relatively easy points, but at some point they can't look past him anymore..
  13. Do your commentators also keep thinking that first measurement is a split time? The Dutch one does, all the time, for example he thought Muzaferija had the lead for a bit.
  14. And to add to that: the IBU qualifying points rankings are kept on a secret list, which is only handed out to federations and not made public anywhere. Unless you make the list yourself, but I tried hard for 2018 and that's nearly impossible unless you're a real Excel magician.
  15. To be fair, Austria's choices in women's downhill are rather limited lately.
  16. The problem was 10% about whether or not the races would be held, and is 90% (since today) about whether or not she'll be allowed to join the team tomorrow ('there might not be enough time for a quarantine' - as if they couldn't have said that a month earlier, so she'd have gone earlier), as has been the backup plan since the train problems this week. The chances are growing that she'll go straight to Oberstdorf (if possible) and have a total of zero races before the world championships due to the train problems (first) and team problems (now)... Outside issues messing up her season's plans, what else is new
  17. That last one seems promising for the Brazilians who are (supposed to be) coming from Austria on 18 February, of course after being tested in Austria. This thing of "Nove Mesto will probably be cancelled" is going around in the Brazilian team which is in Austria now, but maybe the guy meant it will be 'cancelled' for them (as in, they decide not to go). A certain Totallympian is supposed to join the team tomorrow, which is why it was rather important to know whether or not Nove Mesto really is at risk or not. Thanks for the links!
  18. Rumours going around now saying the Nove Mesto World Cup of next week will 'probably be cancelled', anyone who can help find out more about this?
  19. This could screw up the World Cup in Nove Mesto of next week, considering the world championships in Germany start in the days right after that... https://www.euronews.com/2021/02/11/germany-to-reinstate-border-controls-over-coronavirus-variant
  20. I wasn't expecting much biathlon World Cup action in May anyway.
  21. Which is a shame, Almaty was pretty awesome and according to our resident cross-country skier/former biathlete everything was handled and organized very well there, plus I remember the scenery was pretty cool.
  22. Oh I don't disagree at all, I just don't think having the World Cup Finals there is a good idea (yet). Nothing will make everyone happy, but a World Cup Final with the feel of an IBU Cup...meh. Nothing against IBU Cups by the way, I love them, but not as a major event
  23. It's not just the athletes who might not show up in very large numbers
  24. It's not like it's incredibly out of hand in Norway though.
