Qualification Tracker

Test

  1. With the Netherlands only having one male and one female and the female being out for the season with a torn ACL, yeah, I'd assume they returned the quota
  2. I'd normally gladly listen to former biathlete Herbert Cool's Dutch commentary, but I'm not as happy about it anymore since he blocked me on Twitter due to sometimes sending a question (which he generally asks for during the broadcasts) and sending in some possibly interesting tidbits which, according to him, couldn't be fact checked (yeah not sure if Baiba Bendika having a new rifle was in any news article, but since she was the source herself, I'm assuming she's correct). Too bad. German TV is excellent, but sadly I can't watch that on-demand without going though possible major spoilers, so Eurosport Player with the Brits it is But yeah. Not great.
  3. Commentators missing Hauser screwing up by missing the 19th and 20th shot, TV director missing Wierer taking the lead, what a mess
  4. Situation: Alimbekava arrives at shooting 4, with 1:20 minutes or so to spare on Wierer, the current fastest after the shooting. Commentators: "An accurate shoot, and a quick one, and she could be moving up into the top-2." Come on, she can take two extra breaths for every shot and still easily move in first if she hits all five...
  5. Watching the competition now, this time with Eurosport's English commentators to change things up a bit, but wow....they are...not very good, are they? "A miss, normally she'd hit 20/20 in this race!" No, nobody 'normally hits 20/20' in a 20-shot race.
  6. Interesting, it's not like this was the latest race ever or something Anyhow, I managed to watch the whole race so I'm happy
  7. I wonder how they continued then, because they definitely continued on FOX (I downloaded found the entire race, a 7-hour video, all with the regular American FOX commentary and broadcast up until the very end).
  8. Right, I thought our Iranian friend meant Samoa would get 5 more quotas this way, but he quite clearly said Oceania My bad
  9. If you have literally not seen or read anything about the Australian Open (due to a lack of time) and this morning you decided to go to their website and look at every single result from day one until today....you were in for quite a ride Who the hell is that dude in the semi's?
  10. Ziggo shows every single NASCAR Cup Series live (including the All-Star Race), no matter the day or time, with one unfortunate (and unintended) exception....this year's Daytona 500 Apparently they stopped the broadcast during the night, after the American announcers said goodbye for the day and said there was not gonna be anymore racing on Sunday. That was...unfortunate. It's in Dutch commentary only though I think, possibly there's a second audio stream on other providers than mine (like I used to have on Eurosport on TV), but I doubt it. They switch to American commentary around pitstops and during long, long red flag situations. Truck and Xfinity are shown usually within a few days after the race in a sort of extended highlights edition.
  11. Exactly the reason why, when asking questions like this, I block a part of my screen so I don't see any post other than my own Thanks though, I managed to watch the race without being spoilered What a finish, damn. Very glad to see Keselowski and Logano get out quickly and Kyle Busch a little later as well, and McDowell winning...awesome!
  12. Let's form a committee and take over the directly sports-related tasks of these shitty federations? They can keep the actual management and organization to themselves
  13. Not sure, top-8 from both tracks might make it a tiny bit less terrible than just looking at the time itself. Otherwise, if for example blue was significantly faster than red, those on blue would have a double advantage. Not saying it's good, it's not (at all)
  14. When looking at the qualifying top-16, Franziska Gritsch (15th) is missing and O'Brien has bib 16 (she was 14th). FIS? What did you do?
  15. The first change in the list when I tried it was only that Meta Hrovatová became Meta Hrtová, then I realized I needed to change the 'ová' and not the 'ova'
  16. Mironova getting it right in an individual....I mean, it's possible, but in every race with more than 2 total shots it's a miracle if she keeps it under 2 misses She did destroy the IBU Cup fields in the past years though in those rare races where she shot well.
  17. Wait, so the qualifying is on another run entirely than the race? Bring this in F1, qualifying for the Italian GP on Monza and the race at Imola
  18. Calm down, calm down. On the FIS website there's now a document saying 'Results qualification race'. For the parallel event in Lech, there was a document 'Results qualification run' and (later!) came another document 'Results elimination run'. So I think we can assume the qualification run is indeed completed, but the second run is called elimination run and comes later.
  19. Reading Slovak lists of names with Ctrl + H, 1.0 (Obviously it's clear who is who, I just always find it entertaining )
  20. Ah, this is what I wanted to know. I mean, it sounds completely logical and fair, but you know...FIS, I wouldn't have been surprised if they had some weird thing saying in world championships everyone goes once (either on blue or red) and that's it
  21. Slalom/technical specialists unite again in the fight for the medals Shiffrin vs Gisin vs Vlhova Pinturault vs Schwarz vs Meillard vs Ärni I'm going for Gisin and Schwarz, for what it's worth
  22. On the bright side, technique will become less important and power/endurance more important if the tracks get so bad Something which I personally find not a bad thing at all. As long as there's enough snow to race of course, let's hope so.
  23. This seems...slightly worrying for next week's world championships..
  24. I'm a little confused now After the incident on lap 14 (?) and the subsequent red flag due to weather, it didn't restart anymore, did it? Just to know if I should avoid spoilers or if there's nothing to be spoiled yet
