    It is of course possible they did meet someone else who travelled to a more affected area and got it there, since one doesn't have to actually show symptoms (or feel sick in any way) in order to be able to spread it.

    To be fair, apart from places like China and North Korea, I think no country would basically completely lock down such huge areas that early. Which in this case might be a bit of a shame.

    And Italy is a country that quarantained several (albeit small) places early on already. The Netherlands didn't do anything and only now is sort of warning people in one province to "stay home when having mild symptoms". I'd be surprised if we don't see Italy's current situation here in a few weeks.

    Right. It's all a bit a matter of growing up, it seems, from both sides. Don't make such a fuss about shaking someone's hand since that is indeed the norm here - just like you and me would most likely at least try to adapt to norms in other cultures if we'd go there, no way I'd enter a religious building with my shoes on if the local norm is to take off your shoes - and don't make such a fuss about making it obligated. People need to chill it a bit, jeez. Anyway, coronavirus. We're all going to die and such.

    This might be all political, but what's the big deal about a handshake (in normal, non-viral circumstances)? I mean, surely when one wants to become citizen of a country, shaking hands to finish the process is hardly an impossible step to overcome?

    Can one rewatch the events anywhere, like is the case with the cross-country junior worlds? If so, I'll avoid looking at the results until I've seen the competitions

    That's Friesland though, it's only the Netherlands when they count towards Olympic medals. And interesting YouTube stream shows it, while Dutch NOS stopped the livestream (well, they put up their 'Ice cleaning break' screen) right when this started

    I think increasing hysteria or not just depends on the people I find it very interesting to follow, but am not in any way scared or something. The only reason I have a bit of extra food at home is to avoid a situation where people who actually are scared empty the supermarkets and I can't get anything anymore

    World Cup Finals have started. Only 6 pairs And tomorrow at the end of the regular program there's the......yeah, mixed relay Even ISU doesn't take it seriously since they didn't add it in their official program (and there's no Dutch skaters registered, despite it being in Heerenveen)
