  1. When it comes to the reallocation, yes. When it comes to the top-30, I read it as in that case they'd get one ticket via D.1 (done by Jaque Mourao at the world championships) and one ticket via D.2 (which would be done by a 30th place in the ranking). Not like D.2 only says the total they'd get, but it's one ticket from D.1 and one from D.2 (if all works out, of course).
  2. Definitely true. Then again, not sure if that is more bizarre then for example someone who wins a FIS race in Lebanon against four women who are 10 minutes behind on 5km getting easy 140 points and so a 'better' result than athletes who compete in good races in Norway and finish halfway up the field.
  3. Even the trucks have to be covered by the Russians Photos courtesy of course by @brunamoura
  4. One could imagine at least the federations are kept up-to-date, but considering the fact this high-up woman in the Brazilian federation is doing it manually as well, I highly doubt that...strange indeed.
  5. By the way, just to be clear, we are all seeing it correct, right? In the rare case Brazil manages to sneak in 30th, they do actually get an extra ticket (so two total), correct? I'm all the time wondering if we're not seeing this wrong.
  6. Oh I'm not expecting anything different, especially Croatia is quite clearly better It's in this case mostly about who will and won't start and see if it's possible to gain a spot somewhere. I'd still say the chance is small, but not entirely non-existent. Also, there is the reallocation thing, with unused quotas being distributed from the top of the nations ranking downwards. This probably won't end up helping the likes of Brazil to a second ticket, but it'd suck badly to not have tried it and then seeing simply finishing a race would've been enough.
  7. Imagine this producing a boy, who then ends up in a relationship with the daughter of Bjoerndalen and Domracheva and they have a child together. Mutant alert
  8. Yes, it's my own calculation. The manager of the Brazilian team makes one herself as well and before today, there were a few small differences, so we're not entirely sure who made a small mistake where It's so annoying FIS doesn't simply keep this list posted somewhere, just like IBU they completely ignore a list that is incredibly important for Olympic qualification This is the points distribution in top level team events:
  9. Greece made a big jump with their three lapped athletes today, Brazil won five positions and is not entirely out of it yet in terms of fighting for the second quota.
  10. Spotted myself under the Venezuelan flag
  11. Talking about deceptions: 29th place, four minutes behind for Katharina Hennig.
  12. It's not very interesting to watch, but I can only respect the way Johaug keeps on punishing the course meter after meter, damn.
  13. Ugh, here they have the bullshit rule as well of being out when you're lapped?
  14. Manwhile for now Jaque is very comfortably beating out the entire Greek trio.
  15. Didn't exactly help that the guy with the pole stumbled as well..
  16. For those watching the women's skiathlon in a few minutes: @brunamoura is standing on the skier's right after one and a half kilometer or so, at a little uphill and with bright pink glasses to support Jaque Mourão
  17. Result isn't final yet, plenty of girls to finish and she'll probably fall off the podium, but with 20/20 (the only one to do so after 53 of 99 girls) that's an excellent race for Ema Kapustova @hckošice
  18. I was waiting for this ever since this song entered the world last year Di-rect - Soldier On Soldiering on woman, you're always true to form Just keep on pushing your shopping cart through the storm Most people buy it But you feel it's one that we can no longer afford You stopped believing in our story You say it's way too short Ain't nobody out there as brave as you You're holdin' your own A million different voices That are trying to break you Just listen to one The one that's inside you And soldier on You're governed by the winds that reign You armed yourself with a flower chain and a broken cane Nobody cares how you feel like they think your heart Doesn't bleed the same We wouldn't hear the truth if it cried in our faces Ain't nobody out there as brave as you You're holdin' your own A million different voices That are trying to break you Just listen to one The one that's inside you And soldier on And soldier on
  19. Today the season starts for real with the traditional spring season opener, the Omloop
  20. Awesome to see the only 17 year old Danil Sadreev do this well. I mean, he's already shown that he is a serious talent several times this season, but this is once again a new level
  21. That was a pretty fun race, nice to see a fight to the finish
  22. Especially that. I think throughout the years everyone on this forum has seen so many times where an athlete went in a little too hard (in any sport) and then just completely blew up. It happens. Dutch cycling commentator would say "I hope he/she brought some coins for the meter, because he/she is parking right here."
  23. Wow, Geiger with a rather mediocre performance.
