  1. This whole thing starts to sound like if we organize an event with only athletes who are NOT going to the Olympics (simply because of the dumb qualifying rules, not even the doping things yet), that event would be better than the Olympics
  2. Which four athletes, considering sadly only one per weight, would all have better gold medal chances than Tiao? I can think of 2 or who knows, maybe 3, but 4? That must be the four lightest weights then, assuming Li Fabin's biggest competitors won't compete or something?
  3. That competition in Colombia is going to be a million times more important than the organizers could ever imagine, isn't it?
  4. Absolutely, I actually think they look more elegant. Not sure how to describe it, but like it makes the movements in general look more 'fluent'.
  5. Same for most people here, but when there's a news article with a headline stating "German gymnasts fed up with 'sexist' outfits, start wearing long outfits", suddenly everyone who never watched any gymnastics at all appeared to say how ridiculous these athletes are (you know, for making their own choice) And those were the lighter comments. It went further. Much further
  6. Is there any bitching on social media in your countries as well about German women wearing long pants and such? The is obviously meant for the people bitching about it, not for the German athletes who want to show young girls that you don't need to wear those extremely revealing clothes just to be in gymnastics.
  7. Anyone else noticing how impossibly slow the forum is today? And not the usual several-times-per-week slow, but taking literal minutes to load
  8. But Ceferin is the boss of the greedy organization that made these clubs as rich as they are.... Ceferin and the whole UEFA/FIFA clan have 'butter on their heads', as one might say in Dutch (basically, being hypocrites).
  9. This is already more dramatic than this tiny thing is worth They spent their days and weeks in Teams meetings to discuss this probably and after many arguments (with X arguments already being X arguments too many) made a decision basically (not literally) nobody in the whole world will ever hear anything about, let alone care about Like is the case with most mottos and such:
  10. Of baseball and football I'd pretty much only watch the results anyway, so those are easy choices. Probably the same for most of the water polo and basketball. Actually I think for most of these sports the only matches I really watch will be from the quarterfinals on, or later, since there's too many medal events going on most of the time to spend time watching group matches Of the sports that remain for me, I think volleyball might have the most open field (definitely compared to for example field hockey), so I'll go for that one
  11. The reactions are enjoyable. Both from non-involved clubs (like hypocritical Ajax, which first said a while ago it was in talks to be part of it and now has been condemning it) as well as from big-name players of involved clubs. And so on.
  12. Dutch does
  13. I'll just hope it's not too different from adult football and go with some big-name countries
  14. He died "fighting rebels", uhuh Waiting for military to be in charge in 3, 2...
  15. I was not surprised for that to be the case in Brazilian winter sports (where the federation was absolutely convinced they could 'easily' qualify two women for the 2018 Winter Olympics in cross-country, while that really wasn't going to work the way they thought), but weightlifting in Iran? That's surprising (to me)
  16. But also said he won't resign $$$
  17. I do, sadly, think that is true...generally speaking.
  18. More pathetic than announcing the Super League is backing out of the Super League
  19. And yet the most interesting sentence might be this one: The writer might as well have written "Many weightlifters on the ranking are doped"
  20. Liverpool captain James Milner has said he is against it and hopes it won't happen. I wonder if he'll stick to that and leave if it does happen or if he'll find it acceptable when getting 10 million extra
  21. Going for 4-7, but I expect a few more if you also count athletes who are forced to miss it due to others testing positive. Obviously I really hope zero though, I don't wish that even on my most disliked athletes.
  22. That's the official story
  23. I'm available if needed (and if it pays millions).
  24. Pretty interesting question @Monzanator Wasn't there this thing with referees in the NFL a while back, where the real NFL referees didn't appear and they brought in high school referees and others from outside of the 'main system'? If I remember correctly, that didn't work very well
