  2. Meanwhile the Brabantse Pijl is starting to explode (I won't spoil it in this thread of course), wait a few minutes guys
  3. Oh well, some things are part of life...extra weird GPS results and bad TV directors when in Italy, terrible image quality when in Spain, seeing every castle and every small ruin when in France
  4. Oh and with this hard downhill coming up and it being all wet, we can already cross out Kelderman in the top-10..
  5. Jesus, normally Ganna would have been one of the weaker climbers in the lead group against the likes of De Gendt, Conti, Hagen and Puccio and now he's doing this New Dumoulin in the making, magically going from superb time trialist to being an even better time trialist and being one of the strongest climbers?
  6. Commentator to co-commentator Karsten Kroon: "I'm getting an interesting bit of statistics Karsten, do you know who the last cyclist is to lead the King of the Mountains classification in all three Grand Tours, something Thomas de Gendt could reach today?" Kroon: "Uhm, no?" Commentator: "You're not going to believe it." Kroon: "Huh. Well then I hope De Gendt won't make it "
  7. Popcorn is ready for tonight, only a bit more than ten hours to go. Let's go! Pace makers: Roy Hoornweg - 1500m in 3:55 Matthew Ramsden - 3000m in 7:52 Nicolas Kimeli - 5000m in 13:05
  8. Could have selected him for TOISC as a sort of tribute if I hadn't made my choice earlier, but to be fair, I don't really think I know anything other than 'Jump' and that one is, in my opinion, just alright
  9. WTF, completely missed it because work (stopped watching as soon as they finished), but a helicopter blew a fence over the road, knocking down Etienne van Empel and Luca Wackermann who were hit hard Van Empel finished, Wackermann didn't and even if he did, not even remembering that you're in the Giro is a rather clear sign you're not going to get on the bike tomorrow.
  10. Not too good to see the doctor not stopping him, he looked like he was wobbling quite a lot and showed signs of a concussion..
  11. Cyclists are known to be rather tough, as this shows once again

  13. Awesome, Operation Water Bottle in the Neutral Zone went rather well
  14. How many participants do we have and how many of them picked Geraint Thomas to win and/or finish on the podium? Purely out of curiousity now that he's out of contention
  15. I guess it's not much of a surprise anymore, but DNS for Thomas today.
  16. It's raceweek The classic mass starts on Saturday will be on a new track layout at the local park in São Carlos (Damha). The sprints and the freestyle interval races will be at the same tracks as the past four times these distances have been held there, which makes for interesting stuff in terms of comparing times - unless it's going to rain, which is a fairly real possibility.
  17. Meh, when it's not Biathlon auf Schalke it's a lot less interesting. I mean, biathlon in Ruhpolding, that's...you know, normal
  18. Possibly. Hopefully in the Vuelta it'll finish a bit later, usually tons of people tune in (at least here) for the last part of the stage after work (considering most people, of course not all, are finished by then), but that's a bit difficult now Luckily there's such a thing as working at home and starting a bit earlier to be able to stop earlier and watch anyway
  19. @phelps @Gianlu33 Do Italians not work or something? What's up with these finishing times being before 17:00 for literally every stage and today even around 16:00?
  20. Dutch doctor: "One of the side effects of dexamethasone is strengthening/heightening of your emotions." Quite clearly, the dude is high as a kite
  21. APELDOORN - It has taken the host delegation a while to come up with a suitable song. It had to be a few years old, which makes it a lot easier to find something that represents the Netherlands and it's musical tradition well. After all, there's not that much of an own tradition nowadays, with most quality songs being not very distinct - they could basically be from anywhere on earth. We're going for a little throwback, to halfway in the 90's that is. Tamagotchis for the fancy kids, Discmans because of course a portable music player is freaking awesome, and the absolute king of the playground, the yo-yo. As for music, the mid-part of the decade was the era of the gabber scene, roughly coinciding with happy hardcore. As the name suggests, it's a sort of hardcore music, and it's happy. A whole ton of singles were released in the Netherlands and the Dutch TOISC 2020 delegation has had a hard time choosing, with two main candidates. With an eye on current world themes and to showcase absolutely everyone being welcome in Apeldoorn 2020, Paul Elstak has been chosen as the Dutch representative, with Rainbow in the Sky, let's get those virtual feet off the virtual ground!
