  1. So far it's definitely been fantastic at least in terms of running
  2. Hopefully it works. Starting at 10.30 and 11.30 with those forecasts is utterly ridiculous, they should be finishing up by then.
  3. Femke Bol going for the triple, which has been the main part of discussion and wonder in the Netherlands.
  4. Is there some sort of personalisation option for the order in which you see these things? I don't want to hide anything, but this is my view when seeing the front page, with the bottom being where my task bar starts.. It would be great to have the Latest Forum Replies section on top, since that's often my main 'source' of going anywhere. In terms of space one could easily see 7-8 topics there, but with the other sections above it, I only see 2 Fewer necessary scrolling is generally better, I'd say
  5. Kasatkina seems to be on quite a roll anyway in terms of speaking up and out
  6. Marianne Vos won the Vargarda for the 4th time today, one of the biggest women's World Tour races. Behind the podium she was however told she was disqualified, because when she attacked, she rode like this for roughly two seconds:
  7. Maybe before Cheboksary
  8. Do they still do that in Cheboksary, where gravity used to be lower?
  9. Never thought I'd say so until this year, but now I'd actually think this would be slightly disappointing
  10. Oh wow, what a massive screw-up by the TV directors in the women's high jump They showed almost the entire competition, then showed the three women go over 1.93m....and then next scene they skipped straight to Bruus being the only one to have a chance left at 1.95m, meaning they missed all three attempts at 1.95 for both Topic and Weerman and two of Bruus. Just, wow.
  11. Well I'll be damned, I had it open since this morning and it absolutely wasn't showing, now I refreshed and it's there
  12. Anyone knows why rowing, which definitely uses the 'European Championships' logo and such on World Rowing, is just entirely absent in the official program? https://results.mun.mev.atos.net/ECM2022/en/results/all-sports/competition-schedule.htm I know I can find the program for the European rowing championships here, but that's besides the point.
  13. With the commentators going "look at Nonino, there goes, reaching down" during the slow motion replays. Jeez, did a TV director not notice his luggage flopping around? One might, you know, just decide to not show that front-view replay Kinda reminded me of the Nickelback song Burn it to the Ground. Oh, that shit makes me bat shit crazy We've got no fear, no doubt All in balls out
  14. If the official program is to believed, Slovakia already has 6 finals in the pocket considering they mention the '20/35 kilometer race walk final' But yeah, one of those others should be able to make a final as well, I'm cheering for the goal to be achieved
  15. No Dafne Schippers, due to a back injury. You know, in case we still accidentally live in 2015 and stuff about Schippers is newsworthy
  16. Thanks, it helps to know which places to mostly avoid (assuming it's not going to be like in the Olympics, where in threads of sports X results of sports Y were posted with great frequency)
  17. Well yeah, makes sense considering their main seasons are all still in full swing (road, that is)
  18. Isn't the Tour of Saudi Arabia quite a well-known thing in cycling already? Or am I confusing it with all those other oil states that want to use sports so other people don't look too much at what else they do? Curious if that will also lead to a bunch of FIS cross-country races like in Lebanon eventually, where other countries sort of decide what happens in terms of results (to get good FIS points), in return for helping Lebanon with having their own athletes score some easy FIS points.
  19. Apparently on the forum it's seen as one big multisport event, wihch might be making things rather difficult... Instead of at least being able to read and post in for example the athletics thread (for which it's simply the European Championships) even if I haven't seen any other sports yet, I'll have to avoid the whole event in terms of Totallympics and refrain from reading anything here @Sindo Surely before the event starts we'll get separate threads for the separate sports? As in, an 'Athletics European Championships' thread, a 'Track Cycling European Championships' thread and such? It'd be nearly impossible to follow stuff otherwise unless you really have the whole day to spend on it (like, no work or such).
  20. Schedule for day one of the European championships next week: Does that mean the women's all-around final will be part of the team qualification or how should I read this? It kind of comes across as if the all-around is sort of snuck into something else. Same for the men later in the week.
  21. Last time the decathlon at the U20 world championships was won with a sub-8000 score was in 2010.
  22. I think so, it mostly just looked like he had nothing left. It did keep him in the race, although he'd have needed at least 10 or 20 centimeters more to get himself in a real good position..
  23. After W52/FC Porto lost their UCI license, things have now really exploded in Portugal I mean, everyone (!!) who watched races like the Volta a Portugal saw this coming for years, it really was just a matter of time and it couldn't be more obvious in those Portuguese races most of the time, but it's interesting to see the bomb has now exploded Meanwhile the boss of the Portuguese NADO has apparently received a nice friendly shotgun bullet (or whatever you call it) in his mailbox.
  24. The first (slightly) disappointing result just came in at the pole vault, where he got his first height at 3.70m but then didn't make it at 3.80m. Thelander will need to crush his 4.30m PB though to even come close in the forecast. Emmanuel's hurdles and especially discus, combined with Thelander's highly disappointing discus, really catapulted him away
  25. And still not a single broadcaster really gets that you need some sort of forecast. The graphic they're now showing where you see someone's current points being split in smaller or bigger slices per event is entirely, but really entirely useless We need a forecast in the graphics. Niklas Kaul as great example: he will be far behind after day one, every knows. But he can be 12th and be the absolute top favourite to win, which you'll find out by using a forecast. And no, forecasts are no crystal balls, but they do help in roughly pointing out where someone could gain (or lose) points. If someone has a 5.40m pole vault in their forecast, but that was a huge outlier and normally 5.00m is sort of the limit, you know you can keep a large potential point loss in mind there as a possibility. Commentators really never get it anyway. If someone is a regular 17.00m shot putter and he gets to 15.50m, they'll praise it like a huge win if the rest gets to 14.50m (even if the rest normally gets to 13.50m). Example of course
