  1. Women's cross-country skiing is more boring in terms of which nation wins I prefer to look at it in a different way. For example, Dutch Britt Eerland is learning incredibly much from constantly playing with Li Jiao and Li Jie, a ton of things she would have never learned if she would have played in a team with only "real" Dutch players.
  2. It's working here, and so far it's not as bad as earlier today... Stanionis won his semi-final and can get ready for Rio
  3. Just out of curiousity, which of the Chinese-born players (or players with a Chinese name) actually are "bought"? Because 100% sure not all of them are.
  4. Exactly. The whole point of "is she a refugee?" is irrelevant in this situation, she was a refugee. The whole issue is the Belgium quota thing and I think that's going to cost her a place at the Olympics (because now that she's Belgian, I doubt IOC has grounds to let her compete in the Refugee Team?).
  5. About Asemani: the Flanders Sports assocation surprisingly replied my email and said that there is no doubt about her participation in future European and World Championships (for Belgium), but as far as they know, there is no official decision on her going to the Olympics for Belgium yet.
  6. Awesome, some more events where athletes literally only need 1 win (women's +67kg)
  7. So the brothers can go together after all?
  8. FINA has announced they will investige the French team and their way of losing on purpose in the OQT.
  9. In that case I gave up, that means it's not my internet's fault But this way it's nothing but frustrating to watch it when it stops every few seconds.
  10. Am I the only one where the stream is slower than a super heavy weight boxer?
  11. She still has the world championships to go, but that's a surprise..
  12. Which other major nations announced their final team?
  13. Her But yes, I agree with you and I think everyone does. I would have less of an issue with it if Indra Craen didn't compete in the OQT and Asemani would be the only Belgian or almost Belgian or semi-Belgian, but now Belgium had two athletes and that's not fair.
  14. I've sent emails to the Flemish and Belgian taekwondo federations, the Flemish "sports federation" and the Belgian Olympic Committee. However, they probably won't think "OMG IT'S HEYWOODU ASKING US QUESTIONS!!" so I doubt I'll get any answer
  15. Not confirmed by WTF yet, I'm relying on Belgian media in this case The only facts we can be absolutely sure about are these: - She qualified a quota place, but did so under the refugee flag - She is now a Belgian citizen with a Belgian passport
  16. Ah, Etlinger was so close to what seemed to be a huge upset
  17. Thank you sir I just remembered about the two Japanese women as well, Kaori Icho and Saori Yoshida. Even though Icho had her first loss in 13 years this year, I suppose they're still the major favorites again.
  18. Expert, I need help. If you were to name 3-4 athletes who had the biggest chance to win gold in Rio, who would you name? The only one I can think of is Abdulrashid Sadulaev who is apparently destroying the field in his class
  19. Alright, streams are off, now we wait for the first reports of unfair results
  20. Yes, because of her beating a Belgian at the OQT, meaning Belgium effectively had two athletes in that weight class. Indeed, unfair... The Flemish taekwondo federation didn't answer my emails asking about how they think they can do this unfortuntately
  21. I mostly mean the "official" loss against Ivory Coast because Zimbabwe couldn't afford the plane tickets to travel to Abidjan, after which Ivory Coast withdrew and Zimbabwe was in again
  22. Zimbabwe had so incredibly much luck Already because of that I hope they do a good job
