  1. Two random Australian guys pretended to be professional golfers so they could participate in the...North Korean Open http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2016/11/2/13497436/australian-men-fake-professional-golfers-north-korea-open-prank The only competitor who finished below them was the 15-year old daughter of the Nepalese ambassador (The "pretended to be professional golfers" part is a little confusing maybe, since the North Korean Open is an international amateur tournament, but who cares )
  2. Possibly, although we are talking about a top-10 athlete in the world then. But as you might see above, they are not the only names Yarnold, Dukurs, Dukurs, Deas..those are big names.
  3. For Russia, probably
  4. The bobsleigh and skeleton world championships will be held in Sochi this winter. More and more athletes are talking about boycotting it since the IOC said Russia shouldn't organize any major championships for now after the state-sponsored doping scandal (there apparently also is the pathetic, Middle Age-like homophobia that nobody with a decent mind would be ok with, but I think the doping thing is the biggest thing).
  5. Katie Tannenbaum (ISV) won't be going neither if the WCH will be held in Russia and the Dukurs brothers have expressed doubts through their coach/dad (who won't go to Sochi) as well. This is picking up interest..
  6. The season has not even started and Robert Kranjec is out for the entire season with a torn ACL http://www.skispringen.com/saisonaus-robert-kranjec-schwer-verletzt/
  7. Elizabeth Yarnold and Kim Meylemans have said they are planning on boycotting the 2017 WCh if they're not moved away from Sochi. Well, Yarnold left the option to boycott open, Meylemans said she'll boycott for sure if it's not moved.
  8. Mario Kart Hamilton https://streamable.com/08am
  9. No, because Mourão mostly competes in Canada (I'm guessing especially next month she will, since that's where she got the best FIS points in her career last year). After the Sochi Olympics she hasn't competed anywhere outside North America, whereas the rest of the Brazilians have FIS races (on rollerskis) in São Carlos in October and November. And true, but it's not about the Olympics...it's about Bruna wanting to beat Mourão in a direct fight I'm guessing there's not a whole lot of time for that anymore (Mourão isn't the youngest and I wouldn't be surprised if she retires after Pyeongchang), so the world champs are the perfect opportunity
  10. Life saver Still one question though: This "less than 180 FIS points" means less tha 180 points in this qualification race I guess? As in, athletes who finish top-10 in the Q race and have less than 180 FIS points in the same race, will be allowed to start in the three distance competitions? That would be sort of weird, for example in Falun two years ago just the top-2 got less than 180 points and only a few even came close to that, but still the entire top-10 started in the 10km. http://data.fis-ski.com/dynamic/results.html?sector=CC&competitorid=142625&raceid=24154
  11. I had a feeling it was something like that, which would make sense. Well damn, then it's 99% impossible for Bruna to not have to do the qualifying race and also quite certain she will have to qualify for the 10k the hard way in order to compete against Jacqueline Mourão for the first time
  12. New question, this time about the FIS world championships. There's always a "qualification race" in the first days, which is 5km in the case of the women, where the top-x (10 I think) qualifies for the 10k with individual start later in the championships. Does anyone know what the rules are in terms of who does and doesn't have to participate in this race and who can start in the 10k without having to qualify first?
  13. Vettel lost his podium for breaking the rule he himself was all the time crying about they should have Vettel is developing into the Alonso of 10 years back: an insane asshole with psychatric problems. Hopefully he calms down with years, at least losing his podium was justice So in the end, we've got this: Ricciardo from 5 to 4 to 3 Verstappen from 3 to 5 to 4 Vettel from 4 to 3 to 5
  14. Vettel breaks the rules and as a result gets 3rd place instead of a punishment, FIA showing their ways again
  15. There goes Al-Sulaiti's Kawasaki
  16. This happens in other events too sometimes, I hate it so much
  17. By now there have already been over 70 (!) aftershocks, averaging something like 3-3.5 in strength, since this morning's big one..
  18. Oh come on, it just keeps going...M6.5 earthquake in Central Italy again.
  19. For all female users: catch yourself a Slovenian or Danish guy and stay away from Irish and especially Indian guys
  20. You don't need to look at them, I guess everyone is free to post it, free world
  21. Well yeah, and there's the night in which I think doping control isn't done (maybe in some exceptions?) and you've got hours of time to just take some microdoses
  22. I didn't read anywhere that he is actually getting this, I only saw some sensationalistic websites quoting someone saying "if he would get what the regulations say, this is what he would get"
