  1. I happened to wake up, turned it on and saw the last 3 points or something of a 3:45 hour match...good timing
  2. And she wins, what a match
  3. Halep serving for the match against Davis.....at 14-13, after almost 4 hours
  4. Not entirely correct, but mostly I agree. But more importantly: no, I don't think this is an issue.
  5. I highly doubt threads are going to make a big difference in that, unless you start uploading thousands of MB's of photos or something.
  6. China will dominate the girl's gymnastics event, rumour has it they're sending their full Olympic team that won bronze in Rio.
  7. Another good example of something I meant earlier: In theory one could say "Hey, that can go in the general discussion thread", but on a forum that wants to be and look alive, this (opening a thread like @thiago_simoes did) is much better
  8. One can imagine how a federation might not know about this, people (like Nassar) can be rather intimidating I suppose, leading to nobody saying anything. However, as you said, that's not the case since they did know, and even offering one of them (Olympic champion or not) 1 million dollars (!) to remain silent...that's just sick and in my opinion reason enough to ban USA Gymnastics for quite some time (and of course let the athletes compete in some way, punish the federation, not the athletes). Doping is bad, it ruins careers, but this kind of abuse ruins lives, in this case even of little girls. So if doping leads to federations being banned, this deserves at least the same.
  9. Still better than this farce of a second round.
  10. Just cancel this 2nd round, unless you're specifically aiming for an extremely unfair competition
  11. Materials violation, apparently something with the hardness of his runners. (+ the thread following that tweet)
  12. "After some tests, the result is that Pelé is very tired, but it's nothing more serious than that." According to the doctor who ran some tests on him.
  13. Right, apparently the IBSF (or at least the preview writer) had completely missed the fact that Dukurs was DSQ'ed in St Moritz (and so had I) Edit: Nope, Dukurs only was DSQ'ed from St Moritz today! And by the looks of it, after today's race, so he was in fact World Cup champion for a brief moment (well, unless you count the 8 years before it ) and lost it.
  14. IBSF's preview before today: Dukurs finishes 2nd and ends up 3rd in the World Cup standings. No really, great preview guys
  15. Kasai is getting in shape more and more
  16. Nasty crash from Hayböck, luckily he got up basically immediately
  17. The last slopestyle/big air World Cup was cancelled and now it's certain: 17-year old Niek van der Velden has qualified (Dutch standard was two top-12 results, which he got in Mönchengladbach (8th) and Beijing (12th)).
  18. I think Johannes has burned away all snow under his ski's with this speed, holy cow
  19. Noooo Carla
  20. You can just see those Ghanaian firemen think like "what the hell, how do we solve this?!". Poor guys
  21. RIP national championships
  22. I really hope it's better tomorrow, the Streif downhill is my alpine skiing highlight of the year..
