  1. Wow, De Bakker beat Mannarino in straight sets
  2. Yeah that was on 18 January, it was rather strong in some places No damage here luckily, although I did spend half an hour fighting to try and close the garage door: there's one big door for the car to go through, and a small door on the other side to walk through or enter the garage to put your bike there. Every time I opened the small door, the big door opened because of the wind. The big door can only be closed from the inside, but it didn't close well, so every time I had it closed and wanted to get out of the garage through the small door, the big one opened again. Ugh. Adventures.
  3. Just to be clear: CAS didn't say anyone was innocent, only that in some of the cases (definitely not all) the existing evidence was not exactly strong enough to prove the guilt of the specific athletes, not that there was no doping system. There having been a huge doping system is not being doubted in any way (apart from the "oh my gosh it's all a conspiracy" people of course).
  4. Jan Smeekens will carry the Dutch flag. Excellent choice, being a reigning world champion and a nice gesture after he missed out on Olympic gold by such a small margin after initially celebrating winning the gold, until a few seconds later he realized there had been a mistake in the rounding of the times.
  5. Better late than never, thanks And never again a cycling contest in which you have to predict all stages beforehand, that was the strangest prediction contest rule ever, like playing a Premier League prediction contest and having to predict the entire season worth of matches before match 1
  6. The grid girls (who this discussion in this specific case should actually be about) are mad as f*ck about losing their jobs. http://www.planetf1.com/news/grid-girls-hit-back-after-getting-the-axe/
  7. Those are the youngest drivers, where there's always those one or two who are way too eager to show what they're capable of
  8. Oh and they're for free, as many as you want. If I was an athlete, no way I'd leave the Olympic village without some awesome official Olympic condoms as souvenirs
  9. I'm curious who'll steal the most this time, according to the stories, in the Summer Olympics especially the African athletes stash their bags as full as possible with hundreds and hundreds of them for back home But well, it's the Winter Olympics, most of the few African athletes have their homes in countries like Austria, Canada, US anyway
  10. And that's 1 for Piti
  11. 8:38 hours, thank technology for on-boad WiFi
  12. Which is sort of what CAS said as well.
  13. Oops, I opened all the threads where the last post was 'Team Slovakia' yesterday and didn't look above those posts
  14. Thanks, although there sadly you can't click directly to the result
  15. No Erik Guay https://www.instagram.com/p/BenjWCHHcmM/?taken-by=erikguay
  16. Any idea if it's possible somewhere (on the official site) to see the daily schedule sorted by time? Now it's sorted by sport, meaning I still end up scrolling from sport to sport and checking 10 things to see when the next event starts
  17. Before Tretiakov got thrown out
  18. Plus athletes like Shipulin or Yuskov won't even get the chance to appeal at CAS because of this insane short time frame
  19. Ah yeah, my bad. That's a shame then, but still Sundby ends up in 4th place and that's quite alright
  20. Possibly And the thing is, in recent years apparently they won some matches, sets and so on. Even in 2017/2016 (not sure), so no idea what happened there.
  21. Yep, that's a good one as well. I'm very interested to see how this is gonna work out...in most cases I guess the best option would be to allow these 28 Russians to be registered (apart from retired athletes or, in ice hockey's case, NHL players, if there are any), without having any impact on already qualified athletes. At least I hope that's how it's gonna work in skeleton, then the epic Iron Man vs Superman vs Russian Rocket battle may be back on
  22. The main interesting question now: will the likes of Tretiakov and Nikitina (those 28 athletes) be able to compete in Pyeongchang? I know they're not banned anymore, so that's not the problem, but aren't entries closed by now?
  23. So Zubkov and his men still lose 'their' double Olympic gold, Tretiakov gets his gold back, all speed skaters are reinstated (Skobrev ) and that hilarious podium in the men's 50km XC will be reinstated as well (no problem with that, bye Sundby's gold )
