  1. For a long distance, riding on sea-level might actually be better than on high altitude like Aguascalientes.
  2. Anything that's about someone riding one hour at 50km/h+ goes in the books as WR attempt
  3. Mikkel B will attempt the world hour record today at 18:00 CET
  4. Changing not only quotas but even entire events less than two years before the Olympics isn't a good thing, so I hope those ideas of phelps won't actually happen in 2020 Plus I'm not so enthousiastic anyway about stuff like even more uncompetitive eights.
  5. To be fair, Klimov is definitely good, but he's not (yet) the World Cup final classification winning kind of good
  6. I like them and what I love most is the fact that most of these athletes are unknown to me but we all know some of them will be future stars and Olympic medal winners. Just like know when I look at results of 2010, I'm thinking "hey cool, back then this and this star was just a young unknown athlete" Just saying it's (at least for me, who doesn't follow all youth categories in all sports closely) impossible to make an accurate total prediction
  7. I'm not even starting to try and predict this. Athletes at this age are often so inconsistent, plus they have so little competition against each other to compare them amongst each other. Making a realistic prediction really only is possible if you follow the 15-16-17-year olds in these sports and frankly if it's not biathlon, I usually don't
  8. Klimov wins the Summer Grand Prix, which was already known after his 4th place last weekend in Hinzenbach. Today's SGP final in Klingenthal was cancelled because of the wind, so now it's really on to the winter. Good news from Severin Freund meanwhile, he got a daughter a few days ago and his injury is gone, he is training again http://www.fis-ski.com/ski-jumping/news-multimedia/news/article=good-news-from-severin-freund.html
  9. Handful of days later and just shattered my 6km as longest ever run.....I actually kept feeling alright and did 10km today (56:58) Marathon, here I come #runningupdates I'm mostly really happy with how I managed to consistently run basically the same pace for 9-9.5km (and then accelerated a bit at the end to 10km)
  10. I know (mostly since I happened to read a little about the Superclasico last week or something), but I mean for the Youth Olympics the IOC should also easily accept a stadium that's much smaller. What's wrong if you can fill a stadium with, say, 8000 people for the Youth Olympics? It sounds like the IOC treats it like an event that's somewhat close to the Olympics in terms of how 'big of a deal' it is, but it's really not and should be treated much less 'strict'.. Anyway, these Games haven't even started yet, I'm going in with a hopeful mind to see a nice Youth Olympics
  11. Turkmenistan beat Serbia in the (first) U23 3x3 World Cup
  12. I can imagine and understand the IOC really going for 50k+ stadiums for the Olympics, since it's kind of the world's biggest sporting event apart from the football World Cup, but they really should accept something smaller for the Youth Olympics...most of the world doesn't even know it exists, let alone that it's going on, why not accept smaller stadiums that can still be filled and make hosting it a lot cheaper?
  13. That's actually not an unpopular opinion
  14. And one of the athletes who is apparently blind and thinks reading the ingredients and stuff of things you put in or around your mouth is not important as an athlete.
  15. Bayern should thank Neuer for saving them after that free kick in injury time, that was close
  16. Which I can imagine would get a lot of criticism from the 'losing' team of course Nobody wants a fair way to decide it if that means it ends up the wrong way for them
  17. I thought that crap only counted for the distance events.
  18. So have less games Come on, it can't be that difficult to make sure at least the handful of teams in division X have the same opponents, so they don't need some extra game because they can't break a tie after a ridiculous amount of games. Besides, like @nenad said, Cubs/Brewers and Dodgers/Rockies played each other 20 times this season. Surely there is a possiblity to break a tie there?
  19. I am aware of that. Doesn't make it any less stupid
  20. In athletics, finals are apparently nowadays called 'stage 2'. Just so you know when you read the schedule, when it says 'stage 2', highlight it because that's the final
  21. The site is not really working well yet.. https://s3.amazonaws.com/yog18.schedule.static/en-es/all-sports/competition-schedule.htm# When I click on a date to get the schedule for just that date, nothing happens. Same thing when clicking on a sport.
  22. That is stupid
  23. 16-year old boy gets 4,5 years in prison for kissing a 13-year old girl...... http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/16-year-old-gets-4-5-years-in-prison-for-kissing-13-year-old-137366
