I think just does not have enough motivation. But at the same time - it was the best performance of in thie men`s epee qualification period. We lost to in the QF at the priority minute only and were ahead with 11 seconds to the end. So the team proved that it is not as weak as it was several months ago. Of course it is too late to fight for Olympic quota. But with the return of Svichkar we can find our way to strengthen our raking position.

It is very similar to the case of Grace Reed in figure skating. She got "sport citizenship" from Lithuania - so she could compete at the Euros and Worlds. But she needed "normal" citizenship to compete at the Olympics.

It`s not an easy question. As far as I knew Ukrainian coach works with Romanian team so it could be one more important argument. But in general it should be addressed to the IOC mostly. It is a result of its policy to reduce costs reducing the number of athletes but not their "administrative expenses". We have 10 weight classes in women wrestling and only 6 of them are olympic ones. Thus younger athletes from strong teams have very little chance to compete at the top international level right now. 65 kg is not Olympic weight, so the closest Olympic weight is 62 kg. Ukraine has Koliadenko and Tkach-Ostapchuk in this weight right now. Thus if an athlete does not want to wait for his/her Olympic chance for years - the only way is to switch sport nationality. Of course it is a great chance to get/lose real diamond. And it happend in the past. Ukrainians won 4 medals for thir new countries at this Championships: Zelenykh (ROM), Stadnik and Kolesnik (AZE), Lysak (POL). And wrestling is not the only case. Herojam Slava! Thank you very much for your words and support (I know, Romania reacted immediately after the start of the war - crucial supprort, especially for the southern regions). I hope to see Koliadenko and Zelenykh with the medals at the Olympics. Romanian women team was impressive at the European Championships with Bronze medal in total. Ukraone got gold. I hope thses successes will be converted into some olympic quotas in spring.

A special momet in women wrestling final 65 kg. Iryna Koliadenko won gold for Ukraine and she beated another Ukrainian wrestler in the final. Kateryna Zelenykh found a new home in Romania , her native city of Bakmut was totally destroyed by russians. Our total result is good enough for this squad ( 1 gold + 3 silver + 2 bronze) but it could be better. Hope we will add 4 or 5 Olympic licenses to our only one won by Koliadenko in 62kg.

Sadulaev is officialy out. He was not allowed to visit Romania due to visa problem last moment. Really good news. At the same time UWW allowed so many pro-war atheltes to compete that it looks like a total farce. One of them - Imam Ganishow (FS, 74 kg - is present in the draw-list of the European Championship) is reported to visit occupied territories of Ukraine to support russian soldiers. That is the real face of russian wrestling.

It is still highly possible that Ukraine or Italy enters top-4 instead of the USA. Thus the USA will take American quota. Both european teams look much more motivated since US quota is almost sealed.

Sadulaev is allowed to compete but the others are not allowed. So nobody will respresent russia in several wights

Our chances are getting higher )) From 0.1% to 0.5% )) I think the only really contested spot is the one from group F. But all the teams will have to fight for rankings to get that last spot at the Olympics in case of scratching russia next year.

You know, I am from Ukraine and I do not understand too. The only reason I can see - Portugal could deny that quota.
