I find the current volleyball OQS nearly perfect: it ensures continental representation (but only 1 per continent - not like those systems with the continental qualifiers being held after the world qualifier), it gives great importance to every match played in the previous years with a good ranking system*, and the direct qualification spots are awarded via 8-team pools rather than a knock out playoff. Every team sport should follow.
* with one critical point: the VNL being an almost-closed league, coefficients should be reworked in that case.

After USA trials 2021 she skipped every competition, AFAIK. Too bad, it would be nice to have someone winning medals from 1996 to say 2024.
Rode was third in the USA nationals a few weeks ago...but they use a ranking combining different competitions to select their team for WCh and World Cups, and she didn't make the top 3.

Wow they look horrible . Quite painful to look at.

I watched it live in person many times, basically my grandpa used to race in his days and then stayed involved and got me into it (as a spectator...). But it's a matter of 3, maybe 4 small towns in the whole country, the rest obviously don't care at all. Never watched it much on tv though.

Yeah, this is like a common joke in Slovak medias lately, Italian 2nd most popular sport after Football ? Annual Parliamentary elections
Change of government does not often mean a new Parliamentary election takes place,- actually it happens quite rarely.

FINA has removed the 25km open water events from next WCh citing low number of participants in relation to the costs...bah.

Is it the same rule as the Europeans, can a nation qualify only one Shooter per event.
Yes, it will be the same at every Championship in the qualification period.
-
Yep, we have to know the hosts first, since they will be placed at #1, 2, 3 as usual.

They only needed a huge invisibility cloak to complete their plan.

It was: the last world league Top 2 (what are they going to do with it this year? I don't know) qualify, then 4 from this year's wch, then 3 more from the ECh
So are qualified for next WCh. First time for Israel. If one or two of these teams will be in top 2 of the World League Super Final, and then are next in line.

Kind of sad how at this day and age a joke needs a disclaimer, apparently on top of an emoji, otherwise the -ism bombs explode immediately.
While we are at it, what's up with the laughing downvotes on the Totallympics?Anyone can joke as much as they want - just don't play the poor victim of racial prejudice and stereotyping one minute after agreeing with the use of a (or the ) stereotype - joke or not.
By laughing downvotes what do you mean, reactions by me? The laughing one, as I see it, is like haha - either in a positive funny way or a ridiculous way- there is only a few of them and I don't think the others are more apt.

It's indeed better for anyone to get the men's as soon as possible, since they have way more contenders and not many chances with this qualification system...

It is a prejudice and follows stereotypes.
As it was the reference made by your compatriot (expected that from some other user here at max. tbh) to which you reacted with a "like"...

since we play the very last game of the prelims, I hope our staff can make a useful counting and let us end up in the right place in the final bracket...
I mean, we have to avoid places 4, 5 and 8 at any cost and hope that France and USA get one of those...
tbh, we need a lot of luck to get a medal, as POL, FRA and USA are definitely stronger than us...and I don't trust our team even playing against BRA and ARG...
we just need to avoid all of them until at least the semis...
If Serbia wins 3-0/1 vs Tunisia, Italy has the chance to send all the team you mentioned to the top half of the bracket and avoid them all...sadly I think we won't be smart enough to do that.

Btw, how many qualify for the World Championships out of here?
It was: the last world league Top 2 (what are they going to do with it this year? I don't know) qualify, then 4 from this year's wch, then 3 more from the ECh
So a top 6 here is surely enough given that at least HUN, NED, ITA are qualified, but a 7th place should be enough too.

. Open water should always be scheduled for the first half of the event.
That would mean losing out on all top pool distance swimmers. Which are the big names that make open water somewhat more interesting to a bigger audience.
+ would make pool swimming clashing with athletics for more days in this case.

What about non-Italians? I seem to remember spectators and other teams clapping during the anthem in Birmingham.
Non-Italians have been doing that for years, it's very annoying. Still not a excuse for Italians to now start picking up that behaviour as they should know better.

Track Cycling is the reason why I can't ever see Budapest hosting this multisport event. No way we would want to build a venue for track cycling, it's too expensive and it's one of our weakest discipline.
This edition set a standard: find a venue and build a temporary track, whatever the size it fits.

Oh no, a mini track for cycling
