  4. Start Lists for Tomorrow are out... Women's 3000m https://live.isuresults.eu/events/2023_NED_0002/competition/1/start-list Men's 5000m https://live.isuresults.eu/events/2023_NED_0002/competition/2/start-list not a good draw for Ghiotto...Eitrem doesn't fit him well in the same pairing. and guess what? Roest goes after his 2 main rivals, knowing therefore their clockings... for what it matters, Tomorrow there will be also the Team Sprint races. here the Start Lists: Women's Team Sprint https://live.isuresults.eu/events/2023_NED_0002/competition/3/start-list Men's Team Sprint https://live.isuresults.eu/events/2023_NED_0002/competition/4/start-list

  8. no DQ in the end... with gold, silver and bronze in the men's SBX
  9. and VAR is in action for a suspect contact between Noerl (2nd at the finish line) and Haemmerle (4th at the end). the only safe thing is that Dusek is the new world champion
  10. once again, only a disappointing bronze for Omar Visintin (and thanks to Haemmerle's fall)
  11. Eva Samkova, now Adamczykova is back! after her terrible injury from last year, just a few minutes ago she won (another) world title in Snowboardcross and she did it in the only way she's capable of: dominating from start to finish, leaving no space and no hope to anybody else. tbh, very anti-climatic final, with no race for gold, but also no race for silver ( Josie Baff easy second). the only real fight was the one for bronze, miles behind the first 2: and the last medal goes to Lindsay Jacobellis, still able to edge Petit Lenoir out on the final straight. no comment on the Italians...one wasn't capable of staying in the track, one couldn't even stay on her feet, Brutto after maternity leave, is the bad copy of herself, not taking any initiative to overtake anybody...starts last, ends up last (unless someone ahead of her crashes for some reason)... our SBX team's regression is shameful, especially if we think of the home Olympics coming shortly...
  12. Wrestling, women's Flyweights...my pick is Yui Susaki, even if I used to be a great fan of Irini Merleni. Wrestling, women's Heavyweights...going with Wang Xu, whose career has been more consistent than the following Olympic Champions, who always found the way to be disappointing after winning the big one. Sailing, men's Windsurfing...this pick can only be Dorian Van Rijsselberghe. Sailing, women's Windsurfing...multiple world champion, multiple Olympic medallist (and it's a scandal she won only 1 gold), champion even in the good old PBA... I can feel it in the air...this pick can't be anything but Alessandra Sensini. Weightlifting, women's Flyweight...between doping cheaters and people getting medals after other doping cheaters have been disqualified later, I should pass this poll, but since we're doin'it for fun, I'm going to pick Hou Zhihui.

  15. first (and most important in Olympic perspective) race of the championships to be forgotten as soon as possible for the Italian team... no medals, not even a single finalist in the men's event...a (predictable, announced...but still) disaster for the ages

  17. even if I agree with you about those batters and pitchers excessively slowing down the pace of the game, and after having watched a couple of games in these last few days, I don't think the pitch clock is the right way to fix the problem. surely, not in these terms (8 secs for the batters to be ready, 15 for the pitchers to start their delivery). in any case, no way they should use it from the 9th inning on (they might try it for the first 8 innings and maybe with a more reasonable 12/20 secs balance). as it is right now, it makes baseball another sport with too many chances of anti-climatic ending that would kill the passion also of the younger people they're supposed to get interested with this new rule. p.s. to me, those 3 mins between innings and pitching changes are still the main annoying factor when watching live (that's why I usually prefer to watch baseball games -but it's the same with american football and basketball- as a tape delay...sometimes time difference is an helper)...
  18. I think it was because the final part of the slope is too flat and they had problems to build "traditional" course with rails and urban pieces at the beginning and jumps at the end... even the Skicross (and Snowboardcross) track is very flat compared to what we usually see in the world cup / past world & Olympic events.
  19. well, at least there's always Totallympics!
  20. in the past few weeks, rumors about Clarisse Agbegnenou switching to have got stronger and stronger. the reason behind this is, as often happens, about economical aspects. Agbegnenou, in fact, has a personal technical sponsor (Mizuno), meanwhile the French National team is of course under contract with Adidas. now the French Federation wanted Agbegnenou wear Adidas judogi in her comeback appearance after her maternity leave after Tokyo 2020, but the double Olympic champion refused to do it, saying that she hasn't trained enough with that judogi to wear it also in competition. but the French Federation left her without any coach on mat side in Tel Aviv (and she lost 2 of the 4 bouts for the first time since 2017) and threatened to leave her out of the team for the next World Championships and above all, out of the Olympic team. therefore, the great Clarisse, despite her will, has to think about a plan B, which leads to switching to the African Nation her family is from. personally, I think everything will be fixed quite soon and nothing strange is gonna happen, but if it happens...

  22. always been against that shit! wanna have shorter games? just get rid of commercial intervals between innings and don't allow any further warmup throw on pitching changes (they already have thrown 100 in the bullpen, there's no need for 7/8 more before actually starting the action)... p.s. if they think they can get the tiktok generation back to the good, old National pastime with 2.5-hr games instead of 3.5, they have really lost their minds (like the IOC with the gender equality and the youth&urban obsession)
  23. rather think she's one of those well overpaid Britons (Gymnastics and Diving have been inspirational, I guess). no way that 91 pts run was better than Sadowski Synnott's 1st
  24. no idea, but I think that it was just a tournament not on his schedule. probably he doesn't want to cut weight too many times and he's back in training for the next targeted event (which I guess it will be the European Championship). people like him don't need too many of these tournaments to get in good shape nor to keep themselves high in the world ranking.
