When you say "third world" you are just being extremely disrespectful and making use of a derrogatory term that is not supposed to be used since the 1980s to refer to a location you know nothing of, just because you think part of the population will necessarily represent the whole country. It was your choice to use this harmful term, so don't expect everyone to play dumb now. Disgusting.

We haven't earned that many, to be honest. Some people I know are saying the Games have been a big, big failure.

The point is I'm not trying to judge their reasons or anything. All I'm saying is that one way or another all of these countries benefit from naturalized athletes. I believe that this is not a big deal if they have been long-time citizens of the country. I see the difference. But the benefits are mostly unquestionable.

Wow! I didn't think most of them would come from Great Britain! This just goes on to show how some people are really clueless when they attack Azerbaijan, for example, while the US, Australia, Russia and Great Britain are the "worst offenders".

I totally agree. Not the most beautiful way to win, but it was not against the rules. Then again, this is not a sport where they are scored for beautiful moves, anyway.

Everyone in Brazil was expecting gold from Isaquias, but silver is an amazing result anyway. First ever Olympic medal for Brazil in canoeing. I have to say I'm happier with Moldova's medal, though. I don't know why, but I always cheer for Moldova in every sport competition. Serghei is an amazing athlete and I'm glad he has an Olympic medal again, after his gold medal at the 2014 Youth Olympics. -
