  1. Women's monobob is an exception with only best 5 results counting.
  2. Well, Spring has a big chance to improve his 7th best result (45 points from Innsbruck 2). Stulnev is within reach. And seeing how Spring is currently ranked 12th at WC, I hope he'll do really well in St. Moritz.
  3. Despite beating one of the German crews in Heat 1, it's "only" 12th place for the Dutch today. Our crew can still hope... for now. St. Moritz to go next week. The Dutch still need one Top 8 or Top 12 in the overall standings. They moved up to 14th overall, so another pathway started opening up there, especially if someone ahead tests positive in the upcoming days...
  4. Pametno bi bilo poslati nekoga da nastupa u kombinacijama drugi tjedan. Ondje se da lako popraviti ranking. Zanimljivo kod žena vrlo vjerojatno upada 4. Trebat će pronaći neku.
  5. Already looks like the Dutch will indeed get that incredibly unlikely Top 8 finish. I can't even.
  6. Or maybe not. Still the first three had an excellent course and will continue climbing.
  7. Is Vinatzer going to win this...? The course seems to be deteriorating rapidly and the first run gaps are pretty small. Vinatzer/Rochat should not be in the top 3 given the large mistakes they made.
  8. Netherlands will decline, so I assume Ireland is in?
  9. Phew. I guess the world is not ending today.
  10. Top 24 within one second. But now it started snowing again so it will be very hard to make the second run.
  11. Looks like back-to-back 31st place for Komšić. Unless Ljutić gets bumped to 31st and Komšić to 32nd. All is well in the skiing world.
  12. That would be oddly fitting. The only American speed skating medal in the last two Olympics came in an event where they lucked out with a reallocatiom.
  13. Anna Torsani has secured her OQ at a race in Italy today.
  14. The fact that Zubčić just casually chose to focus much more on slalom before the Olympic season is unbelieveable. The result is clearly there. While his slalom has improved slightly (but still not nearly enough for the top), his giant slalom suffered a lot. Between this and multiple other events where we are headed towards the first reserve slot, I truly hope our NOC decides to discontinue the Winter program. There are Summer sport federations which could do so much more with transferred funding.
  15. Yeah, that December 16 story sounded way too deus ex machina as soon as I heard it today. I just knew some inconsistencies would pop up immediately.
  16. What a run for Hector.
  17. Yeah, but they revised the qualification system. Max 7 results count. https://www.ibsf.org/images/documents/downloads/OWG_-_YOG/Beijing_2022_-_Qualification_System_-_Bobsleigh_V1.6.pdf
  18. Best 7 results count so that's probably why.
  19. This is insane. They let him ski down in visible pain.
  20. And that's a horrific fall for De Aliprandini. Wouldn't be surprised if it results with a season-ending diagnosis.
  21. Wow, I guess there is no COVID in Switzerland.
  22. Looks like we are firmly heading to the first reserve position in both two-man and four-man. What else is new. We will get in only if the Dutch withdraw from four-man, but even if likely, it will probably not happen because that's how our luck goes. They will end up changing the criteria or something.
  23. That's too bad... I thought anyone could get Canadian citizenship. No Olympics for Deanna Stellato-Dudek, the fanciest of the fancy names.
  24. Canadian figure skating is pretty much sinking like Finnish ski jumping did back in the day. Kind of hard to get excited for this event.
  25. Almaty is the one who put in a good bid. Probably the last good bid for the Winter Olympics. Oslo did nothing.
