  1. And I fear that there will be no Captain Canada this time...
  2. Krieg was never a contender for selection. Apart from that a bit random World Cup qualifier win, he didn't show much. Not too frightening, but GB was never a top favourite going into Rio (I would put NED, GER, USA and FRA ahead)... But note that Skelton and Big Star are back. Mendoza is a reserve. Sold his horse. Even in an Olympic year he continued his long tradition of producing horses and selling them as soon as he can. I mean he's a great rider and all, but it's hard to take him seriously as a competitior with that attitude. Good for their medal chances. Bloomberg is the only one of those three that had a chance.
  3. IAAF has published the official Olympic rankings. http://www.iaaf.org/competitions/olympic-games/news/rio-2016-iaaf-world-ranking-lists
  4. I have no idea how Ana Radić didn't get in... In 2012 around 9 OST swimmers per event got invited. Even if only 5 OST swimmers per event got invited this time, Radić would still easily be in. Only some craziness can explain this, as we are talking about huge chunk of quotas that somehow didn't end up with OST swimmers.
  5. Costa Rica will have just one swimmer, Maria Meza in women's 100m. LINK Nepal will have two swimmers. LINK Tajikistan will also have two swimmers. LINK Benin will have two (actually their full Olympic team accross all sports can be seen here).
  6. Unfortunate for Germans, but not that big of a problem in my opinion. Cornet d'Amour and Codex One were in doubt for some time as they are recovering from injury. They are now officially out. Ahlmann's second horse is Taloubet so he really didn't lose that much, it's similar for Deusser who also has very good second horse. As for Mario Stevens, he probably didn't have a chance for selection even with healthy horse. Here's the link in English btw http://www.worldofshowjumping.com/en/News/No-Rio-for-Cornet-d-Amour-Codex-One-and-Brooklyn.html
  7. Luthersdottir all the way!
  8. If anyone wants to go through very very very comprehensive Olympic statistics about athletics here's your link http://www.iaaf.org/news/press-release/rio-olympic-games-2016-athletics-statistics-b
  9. Belgium Team Dressage Jorinde Verwimp (Tiamo) Eventing Karin Donckers (Fletcha van't Verahof) Joris Vanspringel (Lully des Aulnes) Jumping Jerome Guery (Grand Cru van de Rozenberg) Nicola Philippaerts (Zilverstar) Donckers and Vanspringel going to their 6th and 4th Olympics, respectively. Philippaerts competed at first YOG in 2010.
  10. Looks like they also officially disqualified El Salvador and awarded that quota to Cuba.
  11. I also see that Ernests Gulbis is not there, replaced by Struff (GER).
  12. Added archery. A lot of Asian nations.
  13. Btw, seems like Bhutan will not have male athletes for the second Olympics in a row. IOC should do something regarding gender rights there, like they did in 2012 with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Brunei.
  14. To view qualification documents you have to press this white + in green box.
  15. Sorry, looks like I didn't press ctrl+c correctly. It's fixed now.
  16. Thanks for sharing. Looks like WA updated their quotas, available here https://worldarchery.org/competition/14870/rio-2016-olympic-games Also the names of so far selected athletes have been added.
  17. Australia Eventing Team Chris Burton (Santano II) Sam Griffiths (Paulank Brockagh) Shane Rose (Qualified) Stuart Tinney (Pluto Mio) http://www.equestrian.org.au/news/eventing-team-looking-get-australia-back-podium
  18. Looks like Karma from Bhutan received wild card for women's event. http://www.kuenselonline.com/women-archers-to-lead-bhutan-at-olympics/
  19. They really don't have a better female athlete than 400m runner whose PB is 59 seconds? Looks like nobody cares about sport there. Their Olympic team is on par with Andorra, the difference being that Andorra has 85 000 people while Macedonia has 2 million...
  20. Guyana confirmed their two swimmers here. And also Yemen.
  21. I remember having an Olympic quiz game on my old mobile phone. And the right answer to that question was "host country".
  22. Thankfully, wikipedia provided information about their categories using other sources. Men's Bantamweight - Men's Lightweight - Men's Light Welterweight - Men's Welterweight - Men's Middleweight -
  23. Added men's boxing, wild cards for
