  1. Sunday saw the return, after three years, of the World Bog Snorkelling Championships in Wales Once again it proved that the British are the best in the world at making complete fools of themselves by swimming in a dirty trench of water and getting covered in leeches and frogs https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11154625/Divers-plumb-depths-battle-world-bog-snorkelling-championships.html
  2. I was thinking of suggesting an extra competition sometime where every song had to be performed by an Olympic competitor. Anybody interested in that?
  3. Between the three of us a mix of Beef empanadas, Chicken empanadas and Chimichurri fries
  4. I'm celebrating by ordering a takeaway delivery from my local Argentine restaurant EDIT - Actually I'm not. They cancelled on me. I can only imagine everybody was too drunk to deliver after celebrating.

  7. Been a great qualification for South America at the Rugby World Cup but I wonder if this is bad for Olympic sevens qualification
  8. I think I'm able to give time to this so if anyone else from the UK wants to choose a song, let's choose a winner

  15. The GB male sprinters have been quite successful today but they're really hating the track in their interviews. "No tactics in it, whoever gets a big push off the line wins"
  16. Irina Tarasova (shot put) silver medalist at the 2012 European Championship, 7th at London 2012 and Gold medalist at the Universiade 2013 2 year ban which means nothing as she is long retired but she loses all her results between July 4, 2012 to July 12, 2016. She keeps the European medal, is disqualified from London, loses her Universiade gold and some 2nd places at the European Team Championships https://www.sport-exeuropean team champress.ru/athletics/news/vice-chempionku-evropy-2012-goda-legkoatletku-tarasovu-diskvalificirovali-na-dva-goda-1960810/

  18. You're right, she won't care. But if I was a Russian who did well in Sochi or Rio, I'd be worried that they were still catching sportspeople from before those Games
  19. I will never claim to be a dressage expert. I am only relying on what was told to me. One more thing though, you say Anky van Grunsven was the highest profile rider criticized for Rollkur, my friend said Bonfire was probably the best dressage horse ever but her next superstar, Salinero, was ridiculously overrated. Do you agree or is that unfair?
  20. OK @dcro I'd like your opinion on this. Yesterday I was talking to somebody to somebody who lives 1km from me and who used to compete at a good national level in dressage. She told me that judges from the English speaking world will never give high marks to German and Dutch riders with links to the RollKur method of training (like, for example, Werth) dressage horses because they believe it is cruel to the horses. Do you believe this is true?

  23. Actually I'm surprised that people think that cricket in 2028 is a serious possibility. Of course it'll get in for 2032 but 2028? No way
