  11. Swedish men claim two straight wins over Hungary en route to World Champs qualifier Örebro, Sweden, May 8, 2017. The Swedish men’s national team is currently preparing for the upcoming qualification round to the 2018 FIVB Volleyball World Championship. On Friday evening, the Swedes took on Hungary in a friendly match, which the hosts eventually claimed by 3-0 in front of an ecstatic home crowd. Team captain Erik Sundberg received the award for the Most Valuable Player of the match after putting up an impressive performance, blocking down his opponents and unleashing some devastating spikes. “I am pleased with our performance. This is something we can build on. I am especially happy that we were able to put up such a show at home in front of our fans and the coming generations of Swedish Volleyball players,” Sweden head coach Johan Isacsson said after the match. The friendly, which represented the opening ceremony of the so-called Mikasa Challenge, Sweden’s largest Volleyball youth tournament, gathered a crowd of about 1,800, thereby creating a fantastic atmosphere in the fully packed Idrottshuset arena in Örebro. The two national teams challenged each other again Sunday late afternoon in Linköping, and this resulted in another 3-0 victory for the Swedes. Since last weekend, the Swedish team has been in a training camp, working on the team spirit, going through tactics and studying the upcoming opponents. Coach Isacsson is satisfied with what the team has shown since his players have come together: “I believe in this team. We have a lot of interesting players with great potential and character.”
  12. We have a tough group... the girls should beat Colombia or maybe Thailand, but I don't see them winning over Italy or Serbia.
  13. Latvia not qualifying left me stunned TBH. They were definitely amongst my favourites. Anyway, I probably won't be watching semifinal II in order to not lose completely interest in final, but I hope the quality will be much higher.
  14. Our commentator seems to rather love her
  15. So my top 5 of this SF Cyprus Sweden Iceland Latvia Poland
