  1. You clearly don't know much about Bayern if you think that Boateng/Hummels should be selected ahead of Süle. Boateng, Martinez, Ribery, Müller and Robben have no place in this team. The team should be Neuer-Alaba-Hummels-Süle-Kimmich-Thiago-Sanches/Tolisso-James-Coman-Gnabry-Lewandowski. The injuries of Tolisso and especially Tolisso hurt the team, but the bigger problem is that for some reason Hoeneß seems to have a problem with spending money. Of course there is also the problem of finding someone who can replace Ribery/Robben, there are maybe 5 players in the world who are as good as those 2 were about 5 years ago and all of them are impossible to get. Bayern has to realize that they have to rebuild with players like Sanches, Coman, Gnabry, Davies and talented young players who are still affordable (like Havertz for example). Nonetheless Bayern still would have easily won against this Ajax side last season under Heynckes. Kovac is clearly not good enough to coach a team like Bayern and Bayern should try to get Klopp/Tuchel/Nagelsmann/Rose as fast as possible.
  2. 3 medals in olympic events and 2 of them in gold is great for Germany and somewhat deserved after so many slapstick misses at the Rio Olympics 2 years ago. Even as a non-german fan you have to be happy for the german athletes, considering how hard it must have been for them to come back to the same place where one of their coaches tragically died about 2 years ago at the olympics. 2 gold medals aren't a realistic goal for the next olympics, since Aigner is very unlikely to keep this level for 2 more years, but with Anton/Tasiadias and Funk (who was in great shape this week and could have challenged for gold if she would have stayed clear in the final) 1 gold (and 2 medals in total) should definitely be the goal in Tokyo.
  3. Heynen on the men's side and Guidetti on the women's side? Guess which nation let both of them walk away?
  4. So at the last 2 world championships only 2 european teams have won medals, Poland and ... Germany, both coached by Heynen!
  5. Lithuania already picked a song? "In My Mind" is close to hitting 100 million views on Youtube after just over 2 months.
  6. Still amazed that Germany wasnt able to qualify for this considering how many garbage teams managed to qualify. With a decent format this world cup would last 2 weeks at most and the teams could even get some rest in between games.
  7. Another non-spanish born athlete winning a medal for Spain, at this point you have to wonder whether there are any spanish-born athletes left in Spain?
  8. But apparently only on the womens side. I am still amazed that there are people who dont understand the importance of doping in cycling, just look what happened to british cycling in the last 10 years ... The Netherlands are dominant in speed skating, so noone should be surprised to see them that strong in another sport that is mostly about endurance. The Netherlands in general are more relaxed than other countries when it comes to drugs/doping. Algeria used to be much better than the Netherlands in distance running, but now the Netherlands clearly turned it around (at least on the womens side). You have to wonder how that was possible despite algerian people being more naturally gifted than dutch people when it comes to distance running ...
  9. Will it be a german 1-2? Could be the first german gold since 1994!
  10. Absolute disaster again for Germany. Wieczerzak, Trajdos and especially Stoll completely flopped. Germany should never win less than 4 medals in judo at major competitions. I wonder what happened with Vargas-Koch ... Let's see what Frey can do.
  11. Germany ahead of Austria and Switzerland before the last two rounds of individual jumping, sounds like a winter sport result. Blum would be another random gold medal winner, but with 2 more rounds to go, everything is still completely open. Germany deserves to finally win a(n) (individual) gold in show jumping again. Bronze is good for this german team, but i hope that one day Germany will be rewarded for their consistency. USA doesn't have better individual athletes, but they are always better in the team. Maybe in 2020 it's time, especially if Ahlmann and Deußer get back to their best shape, Klaphake and especially Tebbel did nothing here to justify being in the team.
  12. Happy to see that i was proven right about Sternlicht and Switzerland, despite having no clue about this sport. Some experts didn't even mention Switzerland ... Edit: Also nice to see that i was right about Italy having no chance here, despite other people thinking otherwise.
  13. 1) How many contestants does this contest have? 2) Is there anyone besides him who cares about (follows) non-olympic events like reining? 3) I don't doubt that he knows much about this sport (although the provisional standing in a single predictions contest with very few participants doesn't prove anything), but my point is that his predictions concerning Germany at the 2020 olympic were ridiculous and therefore i offered him a bet. The fact that he isn't willing to take any of them (although the odds would be sensational for him, if his assessment of the current state of german eventing would be correct) pretty much proves that he was just bullshitting and everyone who doesn't believe it just has to look up when Germany last didn't win a single medal at a major event or finished outside the top 5. By the way: In 2010 Germany finished 5th in the team and Jung won individual gold (the same result Germany would have had this year if it wouldn't have been for Klimke's silly mistake, without the best german rider even competing), 2 years later Germany won 2 gold medals at the olympics.
  14. He is clearly delusional, Germany won at least one eventing medal at the last 7 major competitions. This time Klimke threw away gold, so Germany was unlucky to not win the individual gold despite not even having their best rider here. Krajewski, Jung, Auffarth and Klimke won silver in Rio and i still need to hear why the exact same team won't be even top 5 in 2020 like dcro predicted, if Krajewski learns to do cross-country it would be downright insane to not predict gold for Germany, but that's an other discussion for now. All the facts are against him and by the fact that he isn't willing to put his money where his mouth is, you can tell that even he himself doesn't believe in his "prediction".
  15. Just say that you are broke, then we can find another way to make this happen. Sadly you are the only one here having no clue what he is talking about, but please tell me when was the last time that Germany didn't win at least one eventing medal at a major event? I also didn't want to be sadistic, that's why i only wanted to make this about 100 euros, since i assumed even that would be a lot of money for someone like you. You said Germany would be lucky to win one medal, although since 2006 (it would have been 2004 if Hoy wouldn't have been robbed back then) Germany always won at least one medal (thats 7 major events in a row), so don't act as if what you said was in any way reasonable. You have no arguments on your side and aren't even man enough to put your money where your mouth is, just pathetic once again. Not to mention the fact that you can't even talk to someone directly if you want to discuss, just like a little school girl that shies away from confrontation and therefore talks about someone behind his/her back.
  16. 1/2) USA, Netherlands Rest: Germany, Ireland, Belgium, France, GB, Switzerland, Sweden all about the same Ireland is constantly overperforming this year, so they are probably a lock as well. No chance: Italy
  17. Haha, like i said before, i am willing to take a bet, especially against someone who doesn't know how to quote despite spending most of his life on this website. I don't know about your financial situation, so i would offer you a smaller bet: 100 euros to you if GB finishes ahead of Germany in the team competition in 2020 or 100 euros to you if GB wins more eventing medals in 2020 than Germany otherwise I get 100 euros from you
  18. Crazy year for Ireland, once in a century luck for them. First hockey, then rowing and now equestrian. Just sad that they didnt do it in an olympic year. I think it would be great for them to win 1 medal at the olympics in rowing, equestrian and hockey combined.
  19. They have a good chance for silver in 2020, thats for sure. Given how bad GB is in dressage and jumping currently, this would certainly be very important for british riding.
  20. I am sure that Germany will win double gold in Tokyo, currently i would take any bet on that. Jung and Klimke are safe in the team, the question is who out of Auffarth and Krajewski will take the 3rd place. I still believe in Krajewski and if she learns how to do the cross-country, Germany will be the huge favorite. Very sad that Hoy retired, she deserved an olympic gold after she got robbed in 2004.
  21. Very interesting progression by Mayer in the 100 m sprint, he never seemed to have any talent in this event and then in his 20s he suddenly exploded and became a super-sprinter. I thought that Kaul would take the world record directly from Eaton, but Mayer made it considerably more difficult now, if Kaul shows the same development in the sprints, he will definitely take the world record, otherwise it will be very difficult.
  22. Overall absolutely shocking performance by the german rowing team. Another huge disappointment after the horrible results at the shooting world championships. Germany should never win less medals in rowing than any other nation except for GB and maybe New Zealand. 2 golds and 4 medals in total should be the absolute minium at every major competition. Men's eight and womens quadruple sculls are locks for medals in Tokyo, but the other 2 medals have to come from 2 out of men's single sculls, men's quadruple sculls and men's lightweight double sculls. Insane overperformances by Ireland and Canada, on the other hand GB and New Zealand were also pretty bad.
  23. You still think that she will screw it up for team Germany? Coincidence that both better scores are from 2002? Would be absolutely crazy if Germany could win the team gold without Jung and Auffarth. No matter what happens here, Germany (Jung, Auffarth, Klimke, Krajewski) not winning gold in Tokyo would be a huge shock for me.
  24. If they wont change it to best of 3, Zverev will never win a slam. Personally i prefer best of 3, thats why i prefer watching womens tennis. Best of 5 just takes to long, its the same as with football. I think i never watched a full football/best of 5 match because after 2-3 hours it just gets too boring for me.
  25. Trusova ... remember the name! Would really like to take a peek at the laboratory where russia is creating all their female talents year after year.
