I will watch the Hungarian stages, at home via Eurosport. That's why I can just create that three hour long break for the Grand Final and I don't have to think about when I will get home. The closest stage from where I live is Stage 3, but even that one is kinda far off, I don't live that close to Lake Balaton or Budapest. Edit: Oh, you meant specifically the first stage because that's the actual start of the Giro, not the time trial on Saturday? I didn't want to cause confusion in my original post, I called the time trial the "start" because I see the entire three stages event as the "start" and the time trial is part of it.

LOL, something finally dawned upon me. When I made the original schedule I made sure that there wasn't some big sport event on the day of the Grand Final, but I wasn't as careful with the postponement. I was like "Hm, May 7th? Whatever, there might be F1 Qualifying on that day, but that's about it." And, um... I was wrong, because the first weekend of Giro is on May 6-8. Which is fine, it's just the Giro, except hold on, Hungary is hosting the start of Giro this year. How did I forget about this? @heywoodu must be facepalming. Anyway, long story short, I accidentally organized TISC in a way that the Budapest time trial of the Giro will be the "half time show" of our Grand Final. It will be a three hours long break between the second and third voting sessions, which is kinda long, but, you know, we just had a week long break for Open 2021, compared to that this is nothing. And I am sure cycling fans on the site don't want to choose between watching a historic stage of Giro (first start ever in Hungary) and following this contest. Btw, you can already see the voting timetable in the first post. (Hopefully I won't have to change it because all 39 of you will submit your votes in time.)

I have decided to use city names for the Team Challenge and as I am trying to pick the English names for the teams I have realized that the combination of Hungarians city names and English words sounds incredibly silly. And it wouldn't be much better with regional names either. Good luck trying to pronounce city names such as "Székesfehérvár" and "Nyíregyháza".

Happy Easter! The host of the 2022 Totallympics Annual International Song Contest wishes you a very happy Easter holiday if you are fortune enough to live in a country that celebrates this quite strange event where we commemorate the resurrection of Christ with... bunnies who bring eggs? Don't question it! Huh, that bunny looks a bit strange. But I am told it can lay eggs, perfect for the holiday! Here in Hungary we have the usual stuff for Easter, children hunting for eggs and all that, but we also have a custom called "sprinkling" (locsolkodás). I am now looking up the English Wikipedia to see what the official English name for it is and it's... um... Dyngus Day? And here I though this custom couldn't get any more silly. For anyone not living in Central/Easter Europe, this strange celebration is an excuse for boys to yeet a bucket of water on girls. Before they do such an act they have to ask the girls for consent with a poem. Today people usually use perfume, but some still do it the traditional way as this video shows... Do you have any strange Easter traditions in your country? And what do you eat? In Hungary we eat eggs, ham and an Eastern European bread called "kalács". I am consuming some kalács with homemade rosehip fruit spread right now as I write this post, it's indeed very tasty.

I have listened to all the top tier bookie favorite songs and man, this might be the worst Eurovision in a very long time, maybe the worst since I started watching ESC. Last year wasn't that great either, but at least I got a very strong feeling about Italy winning early on and it proved to be right. This time... I am not feeling any of the songs, which is a first for me. Either some good staging saves the contest or Ukraine will win by default. But I do "secretly" hope that the UK somehow pulls this one off, the song has some winning potential in this weak edition, and it would be a great to see a country to go from the double 0 points of 2021 to win in 2022.

After every Annual TISC selection I reveal which Hungarian songs were the runner-ups, here are the ones who almost made it this year: Yeah... um... as you can probably tell I did not like any of the big radio hits this year. I sent Carson Coma again because Deva's music is not something that would ever do well at TISC and as the host I also didn't want to send something as silly as Makuka from Bohemian Betyars.

Totallympics! Start Voting Now! I have sent my votes to our dear @Sindo, now it's your turn to decide who wins the 2022 Totallympics Annual International Song Contest. As always, please, do NOT post your votes in this thread, or any thread, send them to me via a personal message. The voting will close on April 23th at 23:59 CEST. I have made a simple table as a ballot for you to make the voting a bit easier, but it's not mandatory to use it. You got more than 10 days to vote, so you don't have to rush it, listen to the songs as many times as you want, just don't forget about the deadline. 1st 12 pts 2nd 11 pts 3rd 10 pts 4th 9 pts 5th 8 pts 6th 7 pts 7th 6 pts 8th 5 pts 9th 4 pts 10th 3 pts 11th 2 pts 12th 1 pts Res1 Res2 Res3 @konig@titicow@Federer91@intoronto@Vic Liu@Damian@dcro@Hipooo @Agger@Wumo@Finnator123@Bohemia@catgamer@Cinnamon Bun@Quasit@maestro @Makedonas@Yannakis@Fly_like_a_don@Griff88@OlympicIRL@Dnl@Gianlu33@Henry_Leon @Pablita@SteveParker@Ruslan@Werloc@Glen@mrv86@Ionoutz24@heywoodu @Wanderer@rybak@kungshamra71@IoNuTzZ@NikolaB@hckošice@justony @Cobi@Belle@amen09@Mehmet@Illya@dezbee2008@Olympian1010

I am in the process of making my ranking (thankfully I have spent time listening to songs even before the deadline so I could quickly come up with a ranking in this phase) and man... this really is the non-English contest this time. I mean, I am not saying that I dislike the English language songs in this contest or that they don't have a chance to win (for sure they have a chance), but this is my first TISC where I feel like the non-English songs truly outweigh the English songs both in quantity and quality. (But feel free to disagree with me. )

39 Nations, 51 Artists & Bands, 39 Songs, 1 Winner I made a world map yesterday for us to see all the countries that are competing and while that is good and all, I thought that the artists themselves also deserve to be seen together in one post. So here they are. There might be more than 51 of them, I wasn't exactly sure how to count the collaborations. But one thing is for sure: there can only be one winner. Yes, even if all the tie-breaking procedures fail to determine one definitive winner I will just organize a death match between the jurors on Dóm Square in Szeged. There can only be one.

I think we don't have the playlists in the history thread (or I just couldn't find them), so I am only listing the playlists from contests that currently have threads on the forum. Keep in mind that some songs have been removed from these playlists, I can only post their current length. Maybe we should make new playlists for all the contests with all the songs (find new videos for songs if necessary) and have them in the history thread? Annual 2016 - 2 hours, 15 minutes, 51 seconds Open 2016 - 2 hours, 6 minutes, 46 seconds Annual 2017 - 2 hours, 9 minutes, 59 seconds Open 2017 - 2 hours, 12 minutes, 36 seconds Annual 2018 - 2 hours, 28 minutes, 15 seconds Open 2018 - 2 hours, 23 minutes, 11 seconds Annual 2019 - 2 hours, 22 minutes, 19 seconds Open 2019 - 2 hours, 21 minutes, 51 seconds Annual 2020 - 2 hours, 19 minutes, 54 seconds Open 2020 - 2 hours, 28 minutes, 18 seconds Annual 2021 - 2 hours, 16 minutes, 52 seconds Open 2021 - 2 hours, 30 minutes, 58 seconds Annual 2022 - 2 hours, 22 minutes, 24 seconds

The Playlist Here they are, 39 songs to listen to and to judge. The choice is now your hands... or more like it will be in a few days. For now it's actually in the hands of the host who will now spend the next few days to come up with their own ranking until Wednesday. In the meantime please listen to the songs and start preparing your rankings.

39 Nations to Compete in the 2022 Totallympics Annual International Song Contest Well done everyone, none of you missed the deadline, I am proud of you! This is the largest TISC competition since the 2018 annual contest, we got three returning countries: Finland, Tunisia and Turkey. In about an hour I will post the playlist.

As we are waiting for the final three entries I would like to say that I will accept the submissions from until Monday 18:00 CEST if for some valid reason they need extra time to choose a song. I wasn't planning to listen to all the songs in one sitting anyway until that time. Obviously I would much prefer if everyone would submit their song today before the official selection deadline, I am mostly making this exception for @Glen because I am not sure if he will make it in time and Malta has never missed a TISC before. I am planning to post the playlist today after the deadline around 1 am, but I won't if some entries are missing. As for if @Mehmet shows any signs of activity until I submit my votes on Wednesday (12:00 CEST) and confirms that he's indeed a former member of this forum, I won't disqualify Turkey. Which means that the Turkish song will be in the playlist, hopefully I won't have to remove it before the voting starts. These are the two absolutely final deadlines from me, I can't delay them any further as they would eat up the time that the jurors need to vote.

The arming up of Ukraine and the sanctions will most likely cause a never ending stalemate, which is a form of peace. It is what it is, it's still a far better outcome for Ukraine and for their people than a Russian occupation of their entire territory or a puppet government, which was clearly the goal of Putin and he failed (for now). The only thing Putin has achieved with this mess is the total isolation of his country, nothing more.

Totallympics Suggestions and Problems Thread

Anyway, I have checked and I think Google simply decided that "these emails are now spam" out of nowhere, without asking me. It doesn't surprise me, this isn't the first time Gmail altered how it filters the inbox without any kind of approval from me. -

@Sindo The forum isn't sending messenger (PM) nominations to my email address. As far as I can tell the PM notifications are turned on for my email address. This isn't an issue for me, but if other, less active users are experiencing the same thing, this might be the reason why they aren't responding to my PMs. Edit: Oh, wait, I am idiot, I didn't check the spam folder. Gmail is sending the notifications directly to the spam folder, which is strange, because up until February it didn't classify them as spam and I didn't tell Gmail that these emails were spam. -
FIA has to change that mandatory tire change rule. Why shouldn't someone be able to finish on the tires they started with if they can? I mean, most of the time the 0 stops strat wouldn't work anyway. Pirelli fucked this race up, the hard tires were waaaaay better than the med.

Out of the 4 missing entries I am pretty sure that the songs from and will arrive in time. Less sure about @catgamer and @Glen I have tried to contact them but they both seem very inactive, they haven't visited the forum in the last month. And @Mehmet will get disqualified if they won't respond to us in time to confirm that they are a former user.
