  1. 6 gold medals for in biathlon, which is a new record. The former record was 5 gold medals for in Torino.
  2. That was very impressive from under these conditions.
  3. It's crazy to say that drugs can't help for such an intense physical activity. It obviously doesn't teach them how to do it, but it can help their body to execute these jumps at a higher success rate.
  4. I mean, I didn't say that my proposal was possible under the current leadership. It's obviously not going to happen because these people will never protect athletes, they are tools for them, regardless of their age. And yeah, it made me feels very uneasy when I saw 12 year old children winning medals in Skateboarding. It is what it is, money will always be more important.
  5. Eteri and the Károlyis are only the symptoms, not the issue. Children are being abused in many sports, in many countries. We had abuse cases in Hungarian swimming recently, which is the one sport we are good at where athletes can win Olympic medals at a young age. It's what happens when sport results are more important than the well-being of children. It's child labour.
  6. This entire thing just reminds me how sport competitions involving children should be put under heavy regulation. Even adult athletes are in constant danger because of how demanding these competitions are both physically and mentally, it's ridiculous that IOC and everyone involved with sports are allowed to do this to children. Professional sport is not healthy, we all know that. People shouldn't be part of it until they are old enough to make the decision for themselves to commit to this lifestyle. Children should just have fun with sports and be healthy, and that can't be achieved in the current system. Personally I would do something very drastic: declare that the age limit is 21 years for every sport at the Summer and Winter Games, while the Youth Games would be for athletes between 17 and 20. (it would be even better to have the Youth Games every 2 years for athletes who are either 19 or 20 years old)
  7. Oh crap, positive PCR test from Márk Magyar, so no Hungarian pair tomorrow...
  8. What a cursed day, drama after drama. What's next, losing the bob gold?
  9. Kos cost them the gold. Too big of a mistake against a very consistent team.
  10. At this rate I think there's a good chance that they will cancel the final round and the medals will be awarded based solely on the first round.
  11. This should have started at least two hours ago. Now it's freezing there and they might have to postpone.
  12. I didn't want to jinx it before the final by saying that Shaoang almost never loses from lane 1. 1 gold and 2 bronze medals, truly an amazing Winter Games for us.
  13. Flop Olympics continues for Norway, at this rate Germany will win the medal table thanks to the sliding sports.
  14. Germany is winning these sliding gold medals so easily, the luge relay was the only event where there was any real suspense. It's honestly a bit silly how one nation can dominate this much, while China just comes in out of nowhere with athletes who didn't even compete a few years ago and takes the bronze. Even speed skating is less boring because at the very least there are always have some non-Dutch stars, like Nils van der Poel this time.
  15. Yeah. That's why we messed up the semi-final, we knew that this is the only way to win the medal. The Koreans and Canadians didn't realize that qualifying for Final A was a mistake.
  16. Yeah, I knew that the Games went too perfectly for us until this event. Oh well, we already got two medals.
  17. Do you have any data to back this up? There were always doping scandals at the Games, but people still kept watching. Hell, the current scandal is so spicy that it might increase the viewership for the women's event if Valieva will compete.
  18. Which countries? The one that will host the Games in 6 years? They will just be angry, condemn it, and then move on to the next Games. What you are talking about has no precedents in sport. There's too much money at stake for everyone involved, it's the same reason why the boycotts of the 80s will never happen again.
  19. You can't be serious. No matter what happens, doping cases don't influence the Olympic bidding at all. And you are expecting way too much if you think that this will end with a full Russia ban. There's a good chance that there won't even be a DSQ and they will keep the gold, they will fight very hard for this at CAS.
