  1. Well, one thing is for certain, no matter what the truth is in the Hungarian scandal, Péni has nerves of steal because I think he managed to qualify for the final in the middle of all the mess that's going on with him and Sidi.
  2. As it was expected, the Hungarian domination in men's 400IM at the ECh is over after 8 consecutive gold medals between 2004 and 2018. I am more sad about the fact that Verrasztó will likely never win an Olympic medal, he can be one of the most successful Hungarian swimmers ever who never managed to step on the podium at the Games.
  3. I almost forgot about the Monaco GP, probably because it's not on the same day with the Indy500.
  4. Question 1: Should national juries consisting of 2-members be allowed the right to opt-in to a voting process that guarantees that a song(s) which receive votes from both jury members will appear in the final top 12 combined list of that nation's votes? (Read above for details of the proposed method). (a) Yes (b) No Question 2: Should there be an option for a nation to co-host the contest with another nation? (a) Yes (b) No Question 3: Should co-hosting be limited to nations with a cultural and / or geographical link? (a) Yes (b) No Question 4: Regarding potential co-hosting, there should be the following restriction: (a) Limited to 2 nations (b) Limited to 3 nations (c) No limit
  5. I think most Hungarians will/would be disappointed if she doesn't win both 200IM and 400IM, but that's mostly because everyone got used to seeing her win these two events every time (well, except at this ECh, ofc). I think the best case scenario is a repeat of Egerszegi in Atlanta. We were expecting two gold medals from Egerszegi because of her dominance 4 years ago (you can hear how disappointed the Hungarian commentator was when she lost 400IM), and in the end she won a gold and a bronze. I would be more than satisfied with a similar end to Hosszú's career. She can and will improve after this ECh, but so will everyone else, and most of her opponents are much younger then her.
  6. De we know anything about New Zealand in women's kayak? I think they haven't competed anywhere since 2019. As for us.... I don't have much faith in our men's boat, I think there's a good chance that we won't even qualify for the final. On the other hand I am expecting a gold from the women's boat, unless the ECh will tell us a different story.
  7. Only one song of the Top5 is in English. If this result won't convince countries to send more songs that aren't in English, nothing will.
  8. This was surprisingly predictable in many ways, the most shocking for me was how many points France got from the televote. I was quite certain that Italy had it in bag after the jury vote because I knew that they would get a lot more points than the Top3 in the televote, I didn't expect France to get so close. I would say that escfans can't complain, the televote winner won the contest and overall the results are close to what the fans had in mind, the jury didn't mess things up that much for them.
  9. I think Hosszú will be more angry about that she couldn't go under 2:10 than about the bronze. As it was expected, 400IM is her best chance to win gold (or any medal) in Tokyo.
  10. The UK will be in the Top10 again when they will finally take it seriously and send someone who can actually achieve a good result. Or when they hire famous songwriters like Andrew Lloyd Webber and Diane Warren in 2009. Out of all the countries competing the UK should have the easiest job to win, for years my impression has been that either BBC is completely incompetent when it comes to Eurovision and music in general, or they are deliberately sabotaging themselves.
  11. My predictions will go horribly wrong like every year, but this is what I expect today: Jury Winner || Top5 || Top10 - || || Televote Winner || Top5 || Top10 - || || Overall Winner || Top5 || Top10 - || || I don't have the balls to predict Switzerland winning because they are only 5th at the bookies, but this kinda suggest that I should. It's one of the few songs that can get a lot of points from both the audience and the jury, and I am afraid that jury will once again not give enough points to Italy. Anyway, if the voting is all over the place like in 2019, that can help Switzerland to be the next Arcade, or any other song that ends up in the Top5 in both the televote and in the jury voting. Maybe it can also be Iceland, that's the most unpredictable song. France is the obvious jury favorite that needs enough points from the televote, Italy and Ukraine are the televote favorites, and will need the blessing of the jury to win.
  12. 1 férfi és 1 női kvótát szerzett Magyarország hegyi kerékpárban.
  13. What is up with the equipment at this ECh? First the underwater speakers at artistic swimming, now the timing system here. The result of the women's 100m backstroke final has been invalidated and the final will be rescheduled tomorrow. Edit: Swimswam was reporting it incorrectly, the final will be at 20:45 today.
  14. To get a comparison, here are the SF2 YouTube likes after a similar amount of time. 120,974 35,173 25,204 22,485 22,182 17,192 15,443 11,383 8,874 8,017 7,509 6,538 5,701 3,902 3,509 2,956 2,459 2,366 2,783 A lot of support for Serbia, they can get a lot of televotes from the Yugoslav/Slavic countries. And this looks really bad for Bulgaria. I guess there's a good reason why they are falling behind at the bookies.
  15. Do we have a live stream for this that isn't behind a paywall?
  16. Yeah... this men's C1 quota isn't happening for us.
  17. According to the Hungarian commentator Kolesnikov fainted after the 100 back SF. The two events back-to-back must have been too much for him.
  18. I am very happy about that Németh finally went under 48, I think even he didn't expect it before the ECh that he will be already able to do it here, before the Games. This is the first time ever that a time under 48 wasn't enough for the medal at the ECh in men's 100m freestyle.
  19. A ranking of the SF1 performances based on the amount of YouTube likes. 124,297 93,320 54,754 36,378 34,905 27,855 25,042 18,304 18,151 10,862 10,531 9,972 7,346 7,292 4,693 4,359 3,196 2,947 2,841 The ESC hype is still strong in Russia, many of those likes most be from their home country. Ukraine is also a country that always does well on YT because they care about the show, but that's still a promising number. I would say that this is looking good for Italy, not so much for Malta, they might have some big issues in the televote.
  20. Sadly that's probably it for Iceland for the rest of the contest, hopefully their recorded performance will be sufficient enough.
  21. I think most ESC fans would be shocked if you wouldn't be in the Top10, that should be an easy target even if the jury messes things up.
  22. I don't trust the jury when it comes to "unconventional" non-English songs. Same reason why I have doubts about Italy, but at least their entry isn't as weird, it's just rock.
  23. Unless someone made an error at the Hungarian federation, that time counts for us, we had that time trial at the national championships to qualify for Tokyo in men's 4x200m.
  24. That was very promising from Cseh, it's looking more likely now that he won't miss Tokyo.
