  1. It looks like Carrington isn't the only one anymore who can beat us in both K1, Jorgensen wins both 200m and 500m. It's not looking great for our gold medal chances in Tokyo, I very much doubt that Kozák will be able to win K1 500m at this point, she's getting too old.

  3. That was a big surprise, I would have never expected us to beat that easily. Still, I think this quota is between and . I will only start thinking about the potential quota for us if we will beat Slovenia in the SF.
  4. You will likely win that 60kg quota, we have never been as weak in boxing as we are now.
  5. Bad start from us, but we still pulled through. We need to improve, this might not be enough on Sunday.
  6. She has been competing in all 4 with the exception of the 2019 Worlds because of Olympic qualification system, so it's not that crazy from her. I am more worried about that I have no idea how strong she is or NZ in general. For all I know they can win 4 gold medals in women's kayak or not win anything.
  7. We are still terrible in men's K4, there's a good chance we won't make it to the Final at the ECh. Just forget about this boat and have Kopasz and Varga in it, that might be the only way we can have a chance for a good result in Tokyo. We need Varga to pull a Kozák, and do K1-K2-K4. Thankfully on the women's side everything looks fine, we might not need Kozák to win K4.
  9. I think the marathon / 50k race walk final rankings have been published because the Hungarian Olympic Committee just confirmed two quotas for us, but I can't find the rankings anywhere online.

  12. Damn, Sike was so close to the final. And she would have won the quota with that as now takes it with an 8th place in the qualification.... Very disappointing ECh for us, I was hoping that we would win at least one quota here, now we officially only have 4 athletes in shooting. We had 8 in Rio. Well, at least we still have Major in the final and we might still have better medal chances than what we had in Rio.
  13. Hm, did you have more than one? I only see you in women's 4x100m freestyle.
  14. Now that the relay qualification is supposedly over, here are the relay quotas per NOC. 7 quotas 6 quotas 5 quotas 4 quotas 3 quotas 2 quotas 1 quota
  15. A férfi 4x200m gyorsváltónk kijutott az Olimpiára. Így összesen 5 magyar úszó váltó lesz Tokióban.
  16. That fact that she's still pushing for change in this statement tells me that she still doesn't understand the situation. The system isn't broken, she is, mentally. Professional sport simply isn't for those who can't deal with the pressure that comes with it. She has to come to terms with it and either try to improve with the help of psychologists, or she needs to retire before her depression becomes worse. You can say that it's not fair, but hey, that's just how sports work. Some careers are cut short because they were born with some physical defect, the same can true for some athletes who don't have the right personality / mental traits for it.
  17. Oh God, wtf is that draw again at the second tournament: Group A - Group B - I mean, it obviously won't matter much as there's only one quota left, but they need to fix the damn world ranking.
  18. Good news for Kopasz, Varga decided to focus on K2 at the ECh. The Hungarian team for the European Championships: men K-1 200 m: Tótka Sándor K-1 500 m: Kopasz Bálint K-1 1000 m: Kopasz K-1 5000 m: Noé Bálint K-2 200 m: Balaska Márk, Csizmadia Kolos K-2 500 m: Noé B., Kulifai Tamás K-2 1000 m: Béke Kornél, Varga Ádám K-4 500 m: Kuli István, Molnár Péter, Nádas Bence, Tótka K-4 1000 m: Noé B., Gál Péter, Dombvári Bence, Kulifai C-1 200 m: Korisánszky Dávid C-1 500 m: Kiss Balázs C-1 1000 m: Kiss B. C-1 5000 m: Fodor Nicholas C-2 200 m: Korisánszky, Takács Mihály C-2 500 m: Hajdu Jonatán, Fekete Ádám C-2 1000 m: Hajdu, Fekete women K-1 200 m: Lucz Dóra K-1 500 m: Kozák Danuta K-1 1000 m: Gazsó Alida Dóra K-1 5000 m: Bodonyi Dóra K-2 200 m: Lucz Anna, Kiss Blanka K-2 500 m: Kozák, Bodonyi K-2 1000 m: Csipes Tamara, Medveczky Erika K-4 500 m: Lucz D., Csipes, Kárász Anna, Bodonyi C-1 200 m: Takács Kincső C-1 500 m: Balla Virág C-1 5000 m: Horányi Dóra C-2 200 m: Balla, Takács C-2 500 m: Balla, Takács So for the Olympic events we have mostly what you should expect for the Games, with the exception of MC2 1000m, Adolf and Fejes are skipping the ECh. Men's kayak is a bit of a mess, the other disciplines are almost completely done with the Olympic selection.
  19. If this was about proportions there wouldn't be any talk about cancellation because Japan is obviously doing better than Argentina and many other countries. That won't stop everyone to freak the fuck out if a new wave starts a couple of weeks before the Games. I can guarantee you that shit will hit the fan if the timing of a new wave will be bad for the Games, even now with the cases decreasing both IOC and the entire Olympic movement have never been as hated as it is now. The reason why everything is going as smoothly as it possibly can under these circumstances is because, apart from a few professional athletes, the sports community is supporting the Games and wants it happen. There's a chance that this can change very quickly if Japan loses its grip on the virus. Tldr: Japan has to keep the cases low. A new wave can be catastrophic for the Games. Duh.
  20. The fact that they are doing this alone and not a single tennis player is supporting them is the big issue. It just comes off as Osaka being entitled and weak, which is not something you want from the #1 female tennis player. Interestingly enough all the other professional athletes realized that the interviews are part of their job that they can't get rid off whenever they want.
  21. I guess Argentina just gave a precedent for Japan for the cancellation with Copa America. This can mean that Games are similarly fucked if there's a rise of COVID cases at the worst possible time.
