  1. Well too bad, your King has already choosed for you: King cheering for Portugal Yes you can say it was because he's a polite man and he's visiting Portugal. Yes, you can also say that he just saying whatever the child who asked him the question wanted to hear. But the decision by your King is done, so no turning back now!! Long live King Willem-Alexander!
  2. And we’re going to RUSSIA!!! With a first lucky goal (Portuguese winning style ) but a well deserved winning, it’s nice to finally qualify without having to go to playoffs. im only sad for the Netherlands. Living here now, I wanted them to qualify so that I could watch all the celebration here about that.... oh well, now i’ll just have to convince my dutch colleagues to support Portugal on the World Cup
  3. I actually have not been following that much the Olympic qualification, i've been a bit stuck with work But I'm glad some other portuguese is here! I'll sure need help for the anual Totallympics song contest, since I now live in The Netherlands and have no idea about the new portuguese songs from this past year.....
  4. So this year I decided to continue with the logic from the past 2 or 3 contests, and instead of showing you a "popular" song to please the majority, I will keep showing you great portuguese music from different musical genres, in hope I can let you get to know more about my country's musical culture. Therefore, after showing you Fado, Metal and some more african-portuguese music, it's time to show you one of the best musical composers of Portugal, in an instrumental-only song (the first time in TISC?): Rodrigo Leão. Portugal Rodrigo Leão - As cidades
  5. Using bicycles?
  6. Actually I live here now so I stop being a tourist and became one of those biking mad guys that shout when those tourists don’t known how to behave on the bicycle paths hahaha
  7. [amsterdam mode on] maybe thats because it is the greatest city in the country!! [ amsterdam mode off] honestly i totally agree with the hipster part (i think "Gezellig" is the city hidden name), specially on the north part of it. The arrogant side i dont know, but i have already been to quite some cities and, despite different, they all seam quite nice cities.
  8. Hey, i live in amsterdam and its actually quite great! Love the city, love the people, hate the tourists xD
  9. Hey there! Is there anyone here playing fantasy champions league? Is there a totallympics league?
  10. Ines Henriques! World Champion!!
  11. Was not going to make any differecen though, the chinese fans were completely mad about Sun Yang, and all of them had amazing photo cameras that took pictures as good as the ones you would see on the tv screen!
  12. Of course I did, and more scandalous: for Efimova as well!! xD btw, forgot an important picture for you: I actually partially cheered for them haha
  13. Here are a few more pictures from the first day of competition! Victory ceremony for Sun Yang Tomorrow I will try to put some more from the second day :-)
  14. Ok, so as promised I will put here some of the pictures I took! Just a few of them now, later I will put more The Duna Arena Half hour before the beginning, the poll was packed with swimmers training Sun Yang winning easily Later I will put some more! (Sorry for the bad quality, but pictures were taken with phone. I wish I had the $$$$$$ cameras that the chineses had, they were taking amazing pictures!)
  15. I went to the arena Sunday and today (monday), evening sessions, it was quite crowded, mostly Hungarians (special for today, probably because mid Hosszu). Great experience!
  16. Hey everyone! I went to the champs on this past two days and it was AWESOME i am am a big fan of Ledecky and Hosszu so it was great to be able to see them live and winning gold! here is some few pictures of it (but I can show you more when I return to Netherlands) Edit: apparently I can't upload/copy my pictures from my phone to here so I have to wait till I am back to share my pictures from the event!
  17. Congrats to Chile for the win! Amazing Bravo yesterday, not quite a good match, a bit boring, but that's usually portugal style when playing on elimination matches. it worked with the Euro, it didn't work this time now thw 3rd place match is completely irrelevant, so the (real) tournament is over for Portugal. Good luck to Chile!
  18. As far as I know, those are fake news
  19. They are getting a lot of help, more than 2800 firemen are fighting the fires, our army and navy is helping as well. Anyway, if you can understand portuguese (or use google translate) you can read a bit of this to understand how bad it was for those who got surrounded by the fire: Incendio em Portugal
  20. All the stories around it were horrible..... A work colleague of my parents just runned away from his home, surrounded by fire, on Saturday. On one car he took his parents, on the other his wife took their two daughters, of 12 and 15. The man managed to cross that deadly road, his wife and daughters didn't, and died burned on their cars. So many stories like this one of people running away and getting caught on that road...... Really really sad..... And the worst is that it's not over yet...
  21. Those are the newspapers cover pages of today. Very sad...
  22. Saturday night a big fire started on centre of Portugal, near the rural areas of my country. As fire started to get closer to the villages, people went for their cars and tried to run away. As they were driving away, they were caught by the fire and died, either burn in their own cars, or close to the cars as they tried to run from the fire. All of them of the same road. 61 have been known to be killed so far, including children and entire families. It is one of the worst fire tragedy ever remembered, and it's not over yet...
  23. Once again, a draw. How funny it would be if Portugal could get again qualification to the semi final with only draws? Hahaha
  24. This was Lisbon's Airport today, when Salvador arrived. Unbelievable!!!!
