  1. Women's pursuit results: Weidel takes the win by shooting 19 of 20 and moving up from 7th place. Nilsson finished in 21st shot 16 of 20, but had a good day on the skis. She was the fastest overall on the skis, and closed 20 sec in the final lap. Lap 1 - 2nd fastest, Lap 2 - 48th fastest, Lap 3 - 4th fastest, Lap 4 - 5th fastest, Lap 5 - 1st Fastest.
  2. Nice job today by Egorova , Johansen and Erdal in the women's Sprint. Over 1/3 of the women had either zero or only one misses. Oberthaler was DQ. Not sure why. As an aside, UK had Amanda Lightfoot race, so whatever had kept her out of the single-mixed relay at the World Championships is now gone.
  3. What a poor race for the US. But my prediction for the number of lapped teams was also too many. Good to see so many finish.
  4. Germany, Russia and Norway in the men's relay. Russia only used 6 spares. 13 of the 17 teams made it to the finish.
  5. @Fly_like_a_don Not to change the subject here, but how is the Indian Biathlon Federation doing? I know that they seem to have fits and starts trying to get going. Any luck recently with anything?
  6. I might be relegated and compete on the IBU Cup Fantasy League next season
  7. Russian women win the relay going 2+9. Only 7 teams finished the race, the US were in 7th. 13 started the race. The US finished 5+15, but left the shoot #2 in 2nd place with Maddie Phaneuf going 0-0 and handed over in 4th place. Nice job by her! Men's relay in about 90 min.
  8. Looks like the UK pulled out due to Amanda Lightfoot. I noticed that she DNS in the individual. I wonder if she is sick or injured. Too bad.
  9. Descent showing for the US. Jake Brown in 22nd, that is his third top 25 of the World Championship.
  10. Maddie Phaneuf of the US got 3rd place in the Short Individual. 1,2,4,5 were all Germans. Men's short individual was Russia, Germany, Norway.
  11. Sorry, I read the article incorrect. Thanks for the correction.
  12. I do agree, that even with my Egan bias, the producer and commentators had a hard time today. Hauser and Weirer tie on points for the Crystal Globe, with it going to Hauser. Egan and Dunklee were in the provisional start list for the Mass start, but Egan has now been replaced for the time being.
  13. Egan and Dunklee were having good races until the last shoot. Egan with 15 for 15, then 3 misses to finish in 39th, 4:28 behind. Dunklee with 14 of 15, then 4 misses to finish 77th, almost 8 min behind.
  14. As we all know the individual is fun, and is the most likely to see an unexpected podium finisher as someone not in the top tier could shoot clean, while the normal leaders all miss. As an aside, the Individual Crystal Globes for the individual will be earned today and tomorrow. Women: Wierer - 103 Dzhima - 85 Chevalier-Bouchet - 80 Herrmann -78 Alimbekava - 68 Persson - 66 Hauser - 63 Bescond - 58 Men: Laegreid - 114 Loginov - 91 Filon Mallet -91 Boe - JT - 85 If both Wierer and Laegreid finish near the top of the race, they should win the small crystal globe.
  15. The women's individual start list is heavily front loaded. I am looking forward to it.
  16. The question is how many will finish? I say 21.
  17. In the men's Pursuit Germany goes 1 and 2 with Nawrath and Strelow. Norway then takes the next 6 spots. Makarov of Moldova went from 54th to 25th with only one miss. Tobias Eberhard started 20th but ended up 43rd.
  18. US women put three in the Pursuit. Not bad at all. Granted, they were 50, 52, and 57, but I will take it. @hckoĆĄice thanks for the pictures. From the last group pictures, it looks they had some spectators at the race. Unless those were all coaches on that climb in the background.
  19. I totally forgot it was happening. US men did not too bad. I still like that they have 5 men and 5 women in the race. So much better for long term development.
  20. The upcoming races in Lenzerheide - Race calendar 11 to 18 December 2021 Winter Universiade Biathlon & Ski Orienteering 28 February to 6 March 2022 IBU Cup Biathlon 23 to 29 January 2023 OPEN European Championships Biathlon 11 to 17 December 2023 BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 10 to 23 February 2025 IBU World Championships Biathlon
  21. I wonder if they even bid for one? I thought the EOC was great. Maybe they will get an IBU Cup stop in the seasons that have not been announced yet, There is also the Minsk stop that might be removed as well.
