  1. Canada’s men’s team tied FRANCE (yes, France!!) 0-0 in a pre Copa America friendly earlier today!! Signing Jesse Marsh might just have been the best thing Canada Soccer have ever done. Edit: I will add that this was a French A-team. Canada created some solid scoring opportunities too, it’s not like France was controlling 90% of the match. @George_D
  2. Wait huh? tied 0-0 in a pre Copa America friendly earlier today!! Best result ever for Canada’s men’s national team I would think?
  3. Gold medalist in the women’s 3000m steeplechase Pinot DQ’d for stepping over the track line. French Federation is appealing. New podium: Gürth, Bird, Rutto. French appeal is successful, and Pinot gets her gold medal. @Bohemia @Benolympique
  4. 4th for Van Der Weken No first ever women’s medal for Luxembourg at a European Athletics Championships.
  5. Favourite Irish athlete and isn’t in the favourite athletes section of your bio?
  6. Next thing you know, the whole Championships is going to get appealed
  7. Not yet updated on the IJF Olympic Ranking site, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be confirmed by the next update. Calculations were made by @Pasolini
  8. Yes, that’s correct. Only judo I’ll be watching is if any Canadians make the medal matches. Otherwise I’m prioritizing other sports.
  9. Two golds in a row for on the track!! Finot takes the women’s 3000m steeplechase title, and Tual takes the men’s 800m title!
  10. 80.95m for Nowicki in the 6th and final round of the men’s hammer throw final!
  11. 14.85m for Peleteiro in the 4th round of the women’s triple jump final! Really finding her Tokyo form this year.
  12. Mahuchikh over 2.01m in the women’s jump final! Won’t attempt any further marks. Quite surprised.
  13. Excellent final in men’s hammer throw so far. 2 athletes over 80m, 5 over 78m, and 8 over 75m.
  14. 19.77 for Noah Lyles in the men’s 200m into a headwind. As a DeGrasse fan, I’m worried
  15. 10.96 for Asher-Smith in the women’s 100m semifinals! NR’s for as well!
  16. So, another update on this. Looks like she’ll qualify after all. Also, Kelly Deguchi has officially qualified for Paris. Would’ve preferred Frascadore, but it is what it is
  17. 48.75 (of course goes without saying that it’s a WL) for Sydney McLaughlin in the women’s 400m. HOLY. SHIT. Edit: 0.05 off the NR by Sanya Richard-Ross as well
  18. My reaction to finding out that Sydney McLaughlin is actually competing in a race
  19. Fred Kerley DQ’d in the men’s 100m! Obvious false start, but given that the event is in the United States didn’t think the refs would let that happen. Edit: Never mind he withdrew because he wasn’t happy with his lane
  20. 7.14m!!! Tara Davis-Woodhall is on another level in women’s long jump
  21. Great series for her. 19.28m in the 1st round, 20.15m in the 2nd round, 19.80m in the 3rd round, 19.75m in the 4th round, and 20.07m in the 6th round.
  22. Opposite for me (60-40 Slovenia), but we’ll see What I think we can both agree on is that these teams are quite even (for the most part), so I’m also basing this off of Greece’s recent failures at Olympic qualification in 2016 and 2021.
  23. I saw that article too, although I’m not sure how accurate it is. Shapovalov has been playing at grass Challengers lately, why would he play in them if he was injured?
