  1. So, just to recap, here’s the athletes that have qualified for the Olympic and Paralympic teams. I’ll do the calculations for the road to Paris athletes in a bit. Olympic Team Audrey Leduc - Women’s 100m Celi McCabe - Women’s 3000m Steeplechase Camryn Rogers - Women’s Hammer Throw Alysha Newman - Women’s Pole Vault Sarah Mitton - Women’s Shot Put Malindi Elmore - Women’s Marathon (already named to the team) Olivia Lundman - Mixed Team Race Walk (already named to the team) Andre DeGrasse - Men’s 100m Brendon Rodney - Men’s 100m Mo Ahmed - Men’s 5000m, Men’s 10000m (already named to the team) Ben Flanagan - Men’s 5000m Ethan Katzberg - Men’s Hammer Throw Cam Levins - Men’s Marathon (already named to the team) Evan Dunfee - Men’s 20km Race Walk, Mixed Team Race Walk (already named to the team) Rory Linkletter - Men’s Marathon (already named to the team) Damian Warner - Decathlon Pierce LePage - Decathlon Road to Paris Rankings - TBD Rowan Hamilton - Men’s Hammer Throw Adam Keenan - Men’s Hammer Throw Anicka Newell - Women’s Pole Vault Regan Yee - Women’s 3000m Steeplechase Jean-Simon Desgagnes - Men’s 3000m Steeplechase Thomas Fafard - Men’s 5000m Jacqueline Madogo - Women’s 100m Sade McCreath - Women’s 100m 3rd athlete in men’s 100m So no Weir, Tennant, Sands, Gleadle, De Bues Stafford or Butler. Paralympic Team Julia Hanes - Women’s F33 Shot Put Amanda Rummery - Women’s T46 400m Zachary Gingras - Men’s T38 400m Austin Smeenk - Men’s T34 100m Anthony Bouchard - Men’s T52 100m Cody Fournie - Men’s T51 100m Katie Pegg - Women’s F46 Shot Put Sheriauna Haase - Women’s T46 100m Bianca Borgella - Women’s T13 100m Nate Reich - Men’s T38 1500m
  2. I mind, I don’t want to see him on any other team except the Canucks Always gonna be a fan of him regardless of what team he does choose to go to though.
  3. Nikita Zadorov won’t be resigning with the Canucks and will test the free agent market. Guentzel also likely to resign with the Hurricanes, so there goes another potential player for the Canucks. @Topicmaster1010
  4. Given we’re probably not making the final either way, I’d put the 16 year old Oppong-Nketiah on the roster for experience.
  5. You’re right, but actually I think the only discussion will be the 5th relay athlete out of Adjibi and Asemota. Maybe even Murray, depending on the severity of his injury. Brown, DeGrasse, Rodney, Blake have good experience together winning countless major medals, and will almost certainly make the team.
  6. In terms of athletes that are borderline qualifying for the Olympics through the rankings, or just barely out, it hasn’t really been a successful Olympic Trials for us so far (even overall) But it hasn’t all been bad, Katzberg’s 82.60m in men’s hammer throw, Newman’s 4.75m (and a very close 3rd attempt at 4.85m) in women’s pole vault, Oppong-Nketiah’s 11.38 and 11.39 in women’s U20 100m, Arop’s 1:43.53 in the men’s 800m semifinals, and 7558 points for Wilson in the men’s decathlon have been the highlights for me so far.
  7. Alysha Newman with a new outdoor SB of 4.63m in women’s pole vault! Even more impressive is that she’s done it with a clean scorecard! @Surlympics
  8. 11.39 in the final! Wow, definitely one to watch out for in the future.
  9. Leduc, Madogo, Leclair, Emmanuel most likely get relay spots for the women’s 4x100m.
  10. Best mark of 19.62m for Sarah Mitton in women’s shot put after the 5th round. Solid, but not anything out of the ordinary for her.
  11. Semifinals v. v. Expected semifinal teams, some things did surprise me though. Mainly Italy’s youth team going toe to toe with France, only losing in 5.
  12. 1:43.53 for Arop in the men’s 800m semifinals New SB!
  13. Also, anyone know why Malachi Murray DNS in the men’s 100m heats? Maybe a warm up injury?
  14. Could she be selected for the relay, potentially?
  15. Konrad the big one, but when you have so many talented 400m runners you’re bound to get some semi notable names missing the final.
  16. How? Ludwig/Lippmann and Alvarez/Moreno have both made it very far in Elite16’s this year (quarterfinals in Doha for the Germans, and semifinals in Espinho for the Spaniards), and Placette/Richard aren’t half bad either. They’ll also be very motivated to perform well in front of their home audience. Also it’s Brunner, not Brünner
  17. In Pool A and D, top 3 should go through. Pool B, it’s a tossup for 2nd, Kloth/Nuss should have no problem advancing. Pool C and D, it’s likely between Chamereau/Viera and Hermanova/Stochlova, and Paulikiene/Raupelyte and Akiko/Ishii for 3rd. The most even pool by far is Pool F, any of those teams can win the group. I’d be surprised if Huberli/Brunner don’t advance though.
  18. Eric Peters and Virginie Chenier have officially been nominated to Canada’s Olympic team in archery.
  19. Regular season schedule coming out on Tuesday.
  20. You’re late, I already posted about it in the other thread Petterson and Dahlin will probably be on the roster, remember it’s only the first 6 being announced.
  21. have announced their first 6 players for the 4 Nations Face-Off. United States Quinn Hughes - Vancouver Canucks Matthew Tkachuk - Florida Panthers Auston Matthews - Toronto Maple Leafs Adam Fox - New York Rangers Charlie MacAvoy - Boston Bruins Jack Eichel - Vegas Golden Knights Canada Connor McDavid - Edmonton Oilers Nathan MacKinnon - Colorado Avalanche Sidney Crosby - Pittsburgh Penguins Brayden Point - Tampa Bay Lightning Cale Makar - Colorado Avalanche Brad Marchand - Boston Bruins Sweden Victor Hedman - Tampa Bay Lightning Erik Karlsson - Pittsburgh Penguins Gustav Forsling - Florida Panthers Filip Forsberg - Nashville Predators Mika Zibanejad - New York Rangers William Nylander - Toronto Maple Leafs Finland Juuse Saros - Nashville Predators Esa Lindell - Dallas Stars Miro Heiskanen - Dallas Stars Aleksander Barkov - Florida Panthers Mikko Rantanen - Colorado Avalanche Sebastian Aho - Carolina Hurricanes
