I'm just waiting for IOC to pull the mythical "new fans" attraction card in order to justify killing off ski jumping and nordic combined. Ice skateboarding would probably be urban enough to be viewed as better replacement - though technially slopestyle is skateboarding on skis already so maybe not. In the near future WOG will probably be held in Saudi Arabia or somewhere in the Middle East and the funny thing is those sheiks could actually afford to build a completely useless ski jumping hill which would be used 3-4 times and then swiftly dismantled.

Ski jumping is shrinking with every season. Finland and Czech Republic are dead in the sport and minnows will always be minnows. I'm not surprised team event has been cut down to duets, FIS has no idea how to inject life into this sport and the recent cutdown of team quota in World Cup is pure desperation hoping that minnows will suddenly score points if Top 6 nations will have fewer eligible athletes.
