  1. A screenshot of this post was used by "Świat Koni" ("World of Horses") - the most prestigious equestrian magazine in Poland - on their website in an article about Czechs getting place of Ukraine. After my intervention Totallympics was mentioned as the source (they claim to have thought it's FEI material). Another great success of @dcro.

  3. It's dangerous to state that a single happening is due to climate change, yes. Therefore it would be rather problematic to say that we can be 100 % certain that this bushfire seaso is as extreme is due to the climate change. But this is NOT the normal change that is happening. Usually it would take the world about 5000 years to get 5 degrees warmer (celcius). Since the industrialisation (that would be about 170 years) it's already up by just above a degree and raising by about 0,2 degrees per decade. That would mean that we reach 5 degrees in about 200 years at the current pace. And even by the tiny risk that the "eco-maniacs" are wrong... What's to lose?

  4. "And now on the bench is getting ready six-year old mare Josie with her Polish jockey Kamil Stoch . Oh no. There is a little stronger back wind. But they got green. Take off..... nice timing..... a little messy flight but over construction point 120metres and beautiful telemark on all four. Judges are generous and Josie with Kamil Stoch in the saddle are taking the lead"

  6. Wait, he didn't say they have nothing in common - they do. PR articles are mostly marketing - manipulation under cover of pseudo-information - journalism is just informative (or opinion if we talk about such columns - but they're always said that it's just an opinion). Ghost-writing is simply writing for somebody else's name - they give you a content, you give a language. Session musicians - they're doing most of the job for someone else. It doesn't differ much from simply being musician if you're not a composer/lyrics author. But the difference between marketing and journalism is much bigger than between playing and... playing. Or, at least, should be. But that's what the whole discussion is about - we (me and @Olympian1010) believe in true journalism, which, I'm afraid, is dying nowadays because of commercialization of the world.

  13. OK, it was a misunderstanding, then...as I didn't see the question mark... however, yes...it's the Christian Orthodox Church (mainly based in Eastern Europe, but with small communities well established also in the rest of the Continent and wherever the Diaspora from those Countries has chosen to live) celebrating their Christams Day (which comes about 2 weeks later than the rest of Cristianity because they still use the ancient Julian calendar and never accepted to adopt the "newer" Gregorian calendar used by all the other Christian communities)...

  14. Amazing achievement for our horse riding events. Last years, we had nobody or one horse rider. Now, we will have 5. We qualified jumping team first time after 84 years!!! This success made me decide to buy Equestrian Olympic tickets and go to cheer for these guys in Tokyo!

  17. I love no system more than this one. It's so incredibly easy to find what you're looking for, not all those dumb fancy things events create by themselves to look flashy or whatever. It's just simple and it works.

  18. Little info for you: https://www.lausanne2020.sport/results/nh/en/Participant/ParticipantInfo/6d5d5e94-dfb0-4022-9f19-a5582992b4e8 Duda is the younger sister of Cristian Ribera, who with 15 years old was the youngest athlete at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics. He's a seriously talented kid and I would not at all be surprised if he has a medal chance come 2022. Not sure about Cristian, but she (and Tatah) are trained by her older brother.

  19. Yeah, let's just go ahead and say the cross-country is by far her main thing, the biathlon just....exists, that's all For Brazil in cross-country skiing it's Taynara 'Tatah' da Silva against Eduarda 'Duda' Ribera in the women's races and Rhaick Bonfim against Spanish-based Manex Silva in the men's races. The two Argentinian female cross-country skiers are pretty decent, the Chilean girl was pretty far behind in São Carlos in October, but I think on snow she's a bit better. As for the Brazilian fights: money is on Duda and Manex to win their duels 3-0 (5/10k classic, sprint free and cross), possibly 2-1. For Tatah it's a shame the sprint is freestyle, since classic sprint is by far her strongest event - she's got some seriously good double poling power. Also: she is the one who's going to give us any information we want/she can find about which countries are in which buildings She left for Lausanne this morning, so I don't think we'll have to wait long

  20. Exactly 95 years ago was played the first ever international Ice Hockey game on Slovak soil, The European Championships in the lake of Štrbské Pleso It was supposed to be played in Prague, However, the weather came into play. Even during the Christmas holidays in the capital of the Czechoslovak Republic it was freezing strong enough, but immediately after the New Year there was a significant warming. The ice on the Slavia Prague rink melted and so the European Championships was supposed to be moved to the Jordán pond in the Czech city of Tábor according to plan B. The Sovakian city in the High Tatras Štrbské Pleso was supposed to be the last option. On the Jordan Pond, however, some holes appeared, and therefore the Minister of Industry Ladislav Novak at the Congress of the Ligue Internationale de Hockey sur Glace (LIHG), nowadays IIHF, on 6 January 1925 announced that the European Championship venue will be in the High Tatras and matches will take place on the natural ice of Strbske Pleso. Czechoslovakia (Team composed only by Czech players) won the title ahead of Austria and Switzerland

  24. In the Commonwealth world of sports and a handful of diehard fans outside of it, I suppose I'm sure in most nations in the world it wouldn't even make an annual 'International sports highlights of 2019' video if they had it.
