NaBUru38 150 Posted September 6, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2022 Thread bump! I really don't like the qualifying system. Each continent should have guaranteed spots, and the world repechage should award 3 spots at most.
George_D 539 Posted September 10, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2022 why FIBA reduced teams to 12 from 16?

Spain is out and teams like Puerto Rico in it's always the same problem...if you want some non-European participation, you have to sacrify some strong European teams... moreover, this time the European participants have been determined by the results of the last European Championship only, which was a tournament where most of the top teams sent deprived squads because it was held too close to the Olympics (and their last chance qualifiers), therefore we had some surprising (to say the least) results... JoshMartini007 1,267 Posted September 22, 2022 #8 Share Posted September 22, 2022 Good, that makes us getting to the quarterfinals a lot more likely. Of course, we'd like to avoid finishing fourth in the group
