wtf, third quota chance for us? I knew that we can have one chance here, but three in this competitive field with so few Olympic spots?

I guess we will likely end with one quota, but I must say that the Hungarian men did a great job at this tournament.

for sure at the Olympics there's no team event (which exists in Karate, but only at World and Continental champs)...

I guess someone messed things up...

So then what was the team event about people were posting about here last night? :d

these 4 girls will fight for 3 quotas in women's +61kg

:ITA Semeraro

:EGY Abdelaziz

:SUI Quirici

:CAN Bratic

ITA and EGY are already qualified even if they fail here. but this is very important for Brazil and Kumizaki. if both of them qualify. that last Pan-Am continental quota will go to Dominican Republic in Kata.

Heartbreaking for Chatziliadou to miss out

She won medals at the last two World Championships and last three European Championships and is the reigning world champion. Really a shame.

Not sure what to think of Canada's chances in the round robin. We do like to finish fourth, but this is the last sport where we aren't guaranteed to qualify someone (we are guaranteed to qualify someone in golf, judo, tennis and triathlon via rankings) so it would be wonderful if one of them manages it.

no team event...they were just talking of the finals of the individual events naming only the Nations of the athletes involved instead of writing their actual names (sometimes very complicated to remember while writing quickly)...;)

    • India and Pakistan totally losing the plot in this sport, sad.

    • Interesting, for only 2 months i think i have seen some kind of coin from all of the big countries - Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, France, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Ireland and yes the 2 euro from Croatia. But some of them were the smaller ones, 10, 5, 2 cents.    Expectedly there aren't any from the smaller countries so far. Nothing from the Baltics, Cyprus, Slovenia, Malta, Andorra etc. But also a bit surprising i haven't seen any from Greece yet.    Don't know from what part of Italy are you, but it's safe to say that when summer hits there will be a lot of Bulgarians visiting Rome, so i'm sure they'll bring some of our coins to spread around.
    • I choose to collect only coins in circulation (and I have also found coins in circulation that should not be on the market; you can find a bit of everything). From my experience, it takes 4-5 years for coins to reach southern Italy, so I have no idea how it will work in Bulgaria. Incidentally, I am curious to see when I will see my first Bulgarian coin. I have not yet seen a Croatian coin (introduced in 2023!).
    • Yes, i saw that there are a lot of commemorative coins. But to get some of those, i would need to buy them, as i don't know how much of them are in circulation. And the chances of such making it to Bulgaria are rather slim.    Still, if i find some sports ones on a good price, maybe i will order a few.

    • Have you already started looking for the hundreds of commemorative 2 euro coins? There are loads of them, including sports-themed ones.
    • Don't know if someone else is collecting Euro coins, but since we joined the zone it's been fun looking at what you can get.    It took only 2 months, but today i finally got my first Slovakian coin.  @hckošice
