Swimming Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games

Recommended Posts

People all over the internet did the same thing regarding Hosszú in Rio, I remember how Americans were saying online after the 200 back final that "DiRado beat the doper".

Innocent until proven guilty.

On other internet sites there is a whole different mind set....apart from some dumb americans(very few), people are astonished by David's performances and wish him to become the star he deserves to be. That's why I was amazed to see doping accusations on this site, who's supposed to host people with a very in-depth knowledge of sport.

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

If Popovici is from a wealthy Western European country or USA, no one will question his legitimacy...

Such is the hypocrisy

Would be glad, if you could send me a link to the study/survey you conducted on this matter. Thanks!

Of course when you think like that, you never really have to deal with criticism, because you will always find a reason why someone else shouldn’t be allowed to criticize you. Obviously athletes from certain countries have it far easier to dope, but in the end when someone is world class, he is most likely doped, no matter the nationality. The US has dominated athletics and swimming for years, when you also take the systematic doping in other college sports and the number of American elite athletes who were caught in recent years into account, then the only logical consequence is that American sport is extremely dirty and probably not much different from Russian sport. You can’t dominate sports like athletics or swimming without doping, no matter whether you are the US, GB, Russia or China. You also can’t deny that western countries are investing more in anti-doping measures, which means that it is more difficult for western athletes to get away with doping, therefore the sentiment of SOME western people you mentioned is somewhat understandable, although of course those same people often ignore possible doping of their own athletes.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

FINA invalidates all times posted at Uzbek open.Just one example 100 fly swimmers credited with 52 second swimm finished race with 55-56 and no penalties for now what a joke. They are doing this for years, manipulating times in swimm, throws jumps in athletics...

    • I really hope Nordic Combined doesn't get scrapped. Actually, I believe the Winter Olympics should keep growing with new sports and disciplines (3x3 Hockey, Ice Cross, Speed Skiing, Ice Climbing), otherwise they won't feel like a true celebration of sports like their summer counterpart.
    • In fact, well, no. Hockey is extremely physically demanding, I even think it is the most physically demanding winter sport of all. I mean keeping more than a minute on ice is just cardiac. The shifts are there for a reason.   25 players rosters are absolutely justified. You must have 4 lines to keep the stamina the whole game.   Hard to persuade people who never watched hockey though, I can understand your point, but sadly, the point is wrong
    • Stats are ok, but the time she losts on the range every time... My point was that she is more likely to make us losing the olympic relay than to make us winning it.
    • I'll jump on the off-topic with an unpopular opinion - ice hockey isn't so stamina demanding to justify 25 people rosters. And it doesn't have big playing fields like football or rugby for example, where you'd require so many reserves. 15 field players + 3 goalies should be good. Or 18+3 at max. But 25 is too much imo and the constant substitutes are too much as well.
    • But her shooting surely never was horrendous, or even bad for her standards.
