In a couple of days Western Asia Olympic qualification tournament will be held in Amman. Any info about it.

Entry List

For the men, 5 groups (4 athletes each) will play a round robin with the top two advancing to a single elimination tournament

For the women, 3 groups (4 athletes in two, 3 athletes in one) will play a round robin with the top two advancing to a single elimination tournament.

Took a look at the world rankings for these athletes.

For the men :KSA Ali Alkhadrawi (rank: 164) leads all athletes at with :QAT Mohammed Abdulwahhab (rank: 260), :KSA Abdulaziz Bu Shulaybi (rank: 266) and :JOR Zaid Abo Yaman (rank: 320) being in the top 400.

For the women, only 4/11 players have a world ranking. :LBN Mariana Sahakian (rank: 372) leads all athletes with the next highest ranked player being :JOR Baa Al-Wedian (rank: 475). Should she succeed, this would be Sahakian's second Olympics.

Of course with rankings this low (due to lack of activity) anything could happen.

To be fair here, I think Zaza's qualification says more about the state of table tennis in Western Asia than anything else.

so do you think the sport of Table Tennis in the Olympic should be replaced?
