Graves got 81% and won silver for the hosts. Incredible pressure, as she could have placed her team either 2nd or 4th, considering how close GBR and SWE are...

Yeah, I'm hoping they can make it too. They weren't with their best team here (Daniel Pinto being the major absentee), so there's definitely more in the bag.

 

:DEN should be the only safe bet for the Europeans next year, while for the other two quotas there will likely be a bloodbath between :BEL:POR:AUT:FRA:LUX:SUI, with Austria and Portugal being my picks at the moment.

Standings in eventing after day 1 in dressage...

 

Individual

:GER Julia Krajewski & Chipmunk - 19.9

:USA Boyd Martin & Tsetserleg - 27.1

:GBR Piggy French & Quarrycrest Echo - 27.8

 

Boyd & Tsetserleg remained the nicest surprise of the day. :yes

 

Team

:GER Germany - 50.10

:AUS Australia - 58.40

:FRA France - 59.40

 

 

And, surprise, surprise, there was a Spanish showman. :p

      The women's weights are okay given the distribution of competitors. The men's weights are definitely underweight. Adding 2-3kg in each event would make it more balanced.

      I agree NO to Poomsae!!!   I think they plan to introduce 6 weight classes after LA instead of 8 right now, and those 6 should become Olympic instead of current 4 weights. Going forward world and Olympic ranking could be identical.    But it’s not clear if that means more quotas. Having 6 classes with 64 athletes per gender would be a joke. A reasonable taekwondo competition needs at least 16 athletes per weightclass. But I am not sure taekwondo can get another 64 quotas in total, I doubt it.    beside that I am not happy with the newly proposed weight classes, they give much more focus on light weight athletes, which will be an advantage for Asian countries mainly.    if the proposal is accepted the new weightclasses will be:    Female: 46kg, 51kg, 57kg, 63kg,70kg and +70kg    Male: 54kg, 60kg, 67kg,74kg, 82kg, +82kg
