I would have tried my best if Bruna qualified, but since that's not happening...nah :p It's a million times easier to follow everything from home, so that has my preference then :p

See I've never actually seen a Biathlon event live (I live in New Zealand) and I need to see one before everyone retires after this season. Thinking either the Olympics on the way to Europe, or the final World Cups. I'm going to Europe in a couple of months. Obviously lots of other events I'd love to see but I'd have to pick and choose very few.

Definitely choose biathlon :p  Although it's a bit hard to follow who is doing well in interval start races, but I think in a World Cup that's made easier with screens and such, unlike in the IBU Cups.

In the summer (southern winter) you can go to Mt Hotham in Australia and cheer on Team Australia/Brazil who are most likely training and competing there :d

  • 4 weeks later...

Bought my Pyeongchang tickets today :)

As it stands I'll be seeing a bit of everything. Really glad I managed to get a short track skating one! Those went fast.

    • https://olympic.ca/press/207-athletes-to-represent-team-canada-at-the-milano-cortina-2026-olympic-winter-games/   Official Canadian press release. 207 athletes as @Topicmaster1010mmentioned earlier.
    • Olivia Weaver was up 9-4 in the 5th game.  Hania El Hammamy  then scored 5 straight points to tie it up.  Then, took the lead with a sixth straight point, then won with a 7th straight point, taking the Sprott Tournament of Champions in New York.  Still, congrats to Weaver for bringing home second place!  (And congrats to El Hammamy...what a streak at the end!)
    • One thing working in our favor with Luge is that Women's Doubles is just one sled per NOC, so I like our chances there.  We'll be 3rd or 4th in the Relay (one of my favorite events)...if everyone slides cleanly, we'll probably be 4th, behind , , and ...but anything can happen in the relay.  (I think in my official predictions I had us 3rd.  Wishful thinking, I suppose.)
    • They can also just count DNSs to handle this specific situation.
    • I suspect IBSF will make the point system equal in the future regardless on the number of competitors.   My fear is that they will make the awarded points lower, like only 90 points to the winner to balance it out.
    • Olivia Asselin (freestyle skiing)   She was at the X Games competing this week. Another medal hope out the drain, she was in the form of her life
    • You'd have to ask her simpatic boyfriend from the USA about that, who is often seen at competitions with her participation
    • I think Ro is on a lot of marketing stuff, so I don't imagine USABS would be all that keen on her losing the spot. Perhaps that accounts for their deafening silence.
