Government is not investing on Golf. Unless we improve our sub-junior n junior level in any sports, nothing is going to improve. For 2028 we need to invest now then it will flow smoothly after that. Once base is achieved then climbing up will be natural.

Bold words from Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju. I think he is serious in his job and I am optimistic of a good show in Tokyo.

Very unlike our last Sports Minister in Rio who had only gone there for photo shoots

Equestrian Ranking

India is in Group G...Top 2 qualify in each group. But only 1 per nation.

In Dressage, it is a limit of only 1 per nation. In Eventing, both spots could go to the same nation as well.

Shruti and Anush are trying hard to be in top 2 in Dressage, but it seems they will fall short. Fouad Mirza is at present in pole position in Group G but is yet to meet the MER. Also, if China and Thailand, fail to qualify 3 combinations each, they will also fall from team quota to individual quotas and be in group G. But, Mirza is in good form and hopefully he would be able to not only meet the MER but get enough points to qualify through additional quotas in case China/Thailand fail to qualify as team.

Those are not Olympic rankings but normal rankings. Olympic ranking list is given below

https://www.igfgolf.org/olympic-games/tokyo-2020/tokyo-2020-qualification-system/tokyo-2020-olympic-golf-rankings/

Till few weeks ago, there were 2 Indians in men's rankings but both have dropped out. Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar are safe in top 60

That's good to know but we had golfers very often in the top 100 now not to have them in the top 200 is shocking

Good day so far in Denmark Open. Satwik-Chirag, PV Sindhu, Sai Praneeth (who beat Lin Dan) progress to second round

The next 7 weeks are key for badminton qualifications, we have non stop high level tournaments, Super 300 or higher really key we do well, Saina and Srikanth need to cover some ground.

Saina can do it if she consistently reaches minimum quarterfinals in top tournaments but many decent players in top 16

Kidambi's task is a bit harder because he is way back at 58th spot and has to perform better than other Indians as well, there are 5 Indians ahead of him.

While Satwik-Chirag and Ponnappa-Reddy are within qualification rankings both mixed doubles pairs Satwik-Ponnappa and Pranaav-Reddy are not, they have to play well too

To qualify, both players of same NOC have to be within top 16 in singles
