In latin america at least it's 100% like that.

Those are hard facts, then some people will explain it saying "it's because they are ignorant and dependant on social welfare" while others will say "because only leftist policians care about them". You decide your interpretation.

It is the same in GB. The poorest, most left-wing cities in 1922 are still the poorest, most left-wing cities in 2022, in spite of a solid century of left-wing local government.

Btw, today the Southeast region is just as slow and Northeast in the counting.

Bolso has many votes in São Paulo (18%) and Rio (16%), while Lula has Bahia (29%) and Pernambuco (18%).

Worrisome that Bolso is leading (by a thin margin) in Minas Gerais. Whoever wins there usually takes the election.

The Brazilian swing state. And where I live btw :p

40% counted. Bolsonado leads 50,61-49,39. Bolso's margin is slowly getting smaller, but still a lot of votes to count in São Paulo and Rio.

Why this two big cities prefer Bolso?

Decades of right-wing (or center, sometimes) governments there. Now that PSDB is mostly gone (Alckmin is Lula's vice), they voting for the far right.

And he's still winning there. If Lula's loses I'm blaming you :spank:

Regardless of the outcome, it’s hard to find a less inspiring, or unhealthy (can’t quite come up with the words I want here, so these will have to do) election than this one. I read up on the all the major candidates (top 5/6) during the first round, and I honestly don’t know if I’d willingly support any of them. The amount of scandals, conflicts of interest, questionable political decisions, etc. are just ridiculous. I’d certainly like to here some local users viewpoints on the state of Brazilian democracy.

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.
