I thought AMLO was a socialist?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Lesson number one in Latin American politics: there's no true right or left, just crooks.

AMLO says he's socialist, but in reality he married a woman from the upper class, lives in luxury just like his sons, one of whom is now "married" to a former Miss Universe and live in Madrid.

There was never socialism, just tirans and crooks exploiting the concept for their own benefit, like the Castro family in Cuba.

The biggest problem of Mexico is drug cartels/armies

That's one of our many big problems. Mexico is a failed state, as hard as it is to say it. And mark my words, if the party in government isn't expelled in the middle term elections, then you're seeing another Venezuela, only this time 6 times bigger.

He isn't... he speaks against neoliberalism, yet he maintains most of the original cabinet members that were greatly responsible for the 1994-1997 economic crisis known as "Tequila Effect".

The problem is he has qualified majority in both chambers of the Congress, plus most of the states' congresses, so he's basically free to reform the constitution anyway he and his gang wants.

He started by creating a new paramilitary force, under the guise of a "Civil Guard" but most of the elements were soldiers already dismissed from the army or from the local police corps. Just last week they captured 4 of those elements as part of a group kidnappers.

I could rant all day long, but there's no point in that. Let's just say I'm glad I knew a more less "stable" "free" & "democratic" country, where not everything was violence, corruption and dictatorship.

So he acts unconstitutionally creating an authoritarian regime, using also terrorism (paramilitaries).

Yes, in fact it was one of his first jobs under the "old corrupt regime" as he call it, was to supervise the paramilitary groups that often repressed disent, known as "Halcones". Thanks to that he quickly rose among the party ranks, but defected when said party didn't want to make him candidate for governor of his state.
