Btw now when speaking about votes etc...Are the elections in NED something special and peoples actually take it seriously and go voting consciously and in great number, because here it´s not always the case, our elections turnout is traditionally one of the lowest in the whole planet. Do you know your lowest voting turnout record ? :d

here it should definitely be the Europeans elections in 2014, it was something around 13%...well, to be fair who in this world being at least a bit sane would ever schedule elections during Ice Hockey world championships ? :dunno:

It depends on which elections :p

Those European ones were all between 30-39 in the last few elections, according to Wikipedia. There's of course media attention and everything, but European elections are nowhere near as big of a thing as the elections for the national parliament, where turnout is of course way higher:

2002: 79%

2003: 80%

2006: 80%

2010: 75%

2012: 75%

2017: 82%

That´s some really impressive numbers, dude :d

The less impressive thing is that it's not very regular in terms of when the elections are.....in fact, of those six, 2017 was the only one where the parliament actually made it to the end of their term

The one in 2002 was held at the planned date, but only because that parliament 'fell' shortly before it (because of the whole Srebrenica mess) and so getting earlier elections wasn't necessary, but 2003, 2006, 2010 and 2012 were all earlier than planned due to the whole thing exploding.

Very good percentage.

But we all know Denmark is still better than Netherlands.

National election:

1998: 85.6%

2001: 87.1%

2005: 84.4%

2007: 86.6%

2011: 87.2%

2015: 85.8%

Oh well, in Italy it's normal :p In 62 of republic we had 65 governments and only Berlusconi reached to be in charge for 5 years

Here in Florida (or at least in my polling place), we filled it out by paper and then the machine reads it. But knowing my state, there's always a problem that leads to either a lawsuit or a recount (or both)

As long as the GOP runs this state, no Democrat will be able to take the top job (and it showed our racism due to the races of the candidates), but at least my representative, a Democrat, won her second term.

I'm more excited about the House tho.

Nope, they just send me to some random polling station in my city. Maybe I'm lucky next election.

I usually end up in the nearest one. Maybe because I'm a member of a party :mumble:

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
