GB implicitly excludes Northern Ireland. :NIR

Through Northern Ireland is probably the area that least needs things like this to help improve the Union - everyone there is firmly committed one way or the other on this issue and things like this will change no one’s mind.

British medal targets set for Beijing - three to seven medals for the Olympics, five to nine in the Paras.  Not sure about the Paras, but I think the Olympics are possible.

3-7 seems more realistic than the 5-12 they talked about in 2018. All three curling events are possibilities and both of Hall's bobsleigh drives. Bankes and Ormerod in snowboarding and perhaps something in freestyle skiing and/or men's skeleton. Unfortunately ski jumping is set to be a big fail again. 😊

The Para targets should be achieved mainly through alpine skiing but they could also win medals in snowboarding and wheelchair curling.

GB finished the World Para Snowsports Championships with ten medals (2-4-4) so their Paralympic Games target of 5-9 is well within reach.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
