Tell that to Alberto Salazar and his NOP programme   Or just ask Kara Goucher what's really going on.

Still not authorised by the USA president when Putin authorised and paid for Russia Doping.

And who authorised Nike sponsoring Salazar's doping factory? Nike has a bigger budget than the entire Africa so spare me the excuses.

Unless of course you want to tell me that privately sponsored doping is okay and should be endorsed?

Anyway how can you be so angry about Salazar but be so pro Russia.

BREAKING NEWS! Sam Kendricks is reinstated in the Pole Vault competition, because the officials didn't properly protect him from Covid!

Your comment shows even more hyperbole than me.

Russia should start in Olympics, systematif doping is probably the same like in US. US is few steps before others as always.  So mamy US athlete starts after doping suspension, probably more  are under umbrella. US has an access to new ways of doping due to modern technology. Marion Jones, Justin Gatlon, Gwen Berry, Kelli White, Rollins etc. Probably we will now more about doping in US in next 10-15 years.   USA  are cheaters in doping ways and in many diffrent ways using this power of big country. This is next example which is fairy awful, and it is not fair.

Michael Johnson - while American he admits to not being in favour of the mixed relay - said earlier the DSQ was likely to be overturned as he believed it to have been done wrongly.

It very likely was. The same thing was going to happen in the second heat, but the athletes themselves realised the officials had got it wrong and rushed back into the correct position just as the incoming runners were approaching.

Thing about Dwain was that he was actually punished far more harshly than any other athlete of his own or this era.  He had to pay back all his winnings, had all his medals annulled, was forbidden from all Diamond League meets for life & served a full two year ban.  After his ban he was only allowed to run in Championship races for which he had qualified through the British trials.

When does that ever happen now?  No-one ever pays back their winnings, only results from one year are cancelled, medals from previous years still stand & the Diamond League & other commercial circuits welcome all dopers back with open arms and full wallets.

In US Athletics there is no single powerful governing body, there are only rival groups of athletes. So when Salazar / Nike are accused of doping, it is the Adidas, Reebok & New Balance groups who are the most eager to see them banned.  This is not the way in Russia.

And he did say he doped for performance gains. He must be looking at Justin Gatlin soaking up all the Nike cash and think WTF. I have to say I'm not really mad at Chambers anymore. At least he was honest in the end. Put that against Marion Jones who even lied to FBI, she was so far in her denial

    • China's medal prospects   Short Track Speed Skating: This is the event with the deepest emotional ties to China's winter sports, as China's first Olympic gold medal in winter sports came from this discipline. Unsurprisingly, people have high expectations for it in this Winter Olympics. Medal prospects are mainly focused on men's individual events and the two relay events. However, considering the strong strength of William Dandjinou, I think the probability of winning gold in men's individual events is very low. Instead, the main gold medal hopes lie in the men's relay and mixed relay. Medals: 1-3. My guess: 1 gold; Optimistic: 2 golds   Freestyle Skiing: The performance of this event is crucial to China's success in this Winter Olympics. Eileen Gu remains our super star and is highly competitive in slopestyle and halfpipe. As for the big air, if I remember correctly, she hasn't competed in this event since the Beijing Winter Olympics, so it's hard for me to make a clear judgment on her performance in this individual event. China has the potential to compete for medals or even gold in all three medal events of freestyle skiing aerials. However, given the unpredictability of aerials, the results could be either disastrous or brilliant. Xu Mengtao will compete in her fifth Winter Olympics. Medals: 3-6. My guess: 3 golds; Optimistic: 4 golds   Speed Skating: Similar to the situation in Beijing, the medal hopes still lie with Gao Tingyu and Ning Zhongyan. However, Stolz has shown extremely strong dominance during the Milan Olympic cycle, so I don't think there will be any gold medals in this event. Gao Tingyu has performed excellently in the previous two Winter Olympics, and I still believe he can win a medal in the 500m. Ning Zhongyan also has the potential to win medals in the 1000m and 1500m. Medals: 1-3. My guess: 0 gold; Optimistic: 0 gold   Snowboard: Like in Beijing, Su Yiming remains the star of China's snowboarding. He has maintained a very good competitive form this season, with great chances especially in the big air event, where he will aim to defend his title. He also has the potential to win a medal in slopestyle. Medals: 1-2. My guess: 1 gold; Optimistic: 1 gold   Skeleton: Men's events and mixed team events are opportunities to compete for medals, with Yin Zheng being the key athlete for medal contention. Medals: 1-2. My guess: 0 gold; Optimistic: 1 gold   Curling: China will send both men's and women's teams to this event. Both teams have the ability to compete with high-level strong teams. I predict that either the men's or women's team will reach the top four. Medals: 0-1. My guess: 0 golds; Optimistic: 0 golds   Ski Jumping: This is still a less developed event for China, but Zeng Ping has made significant progress this season, entering the top 8 in many high-level competitions. There is a chance to compete for a medal, but it will be very difficult to achieve. If it really happens, I think it will be quite incredible. Medals: 0-1   I think other events have no chance of winning medals.   summary, Optimistic: 8 golds and 17 medals;  My guess: 5 golds and 14 medals;  Worst-case scenario: 3 golds and 11 medals.
    • we're in Italy! calm down and relax...   everything necessary will appear when it will appear, possibly at least a few hours before the action starts (but don't get mad if it's a few days after the Games are underway)   pure Italian style
    • So tomorrow, the girls will made a protest prior to the mass start for the not-inclusion of Women Nordic Combined into the Olympics   I mean, yeah IOC and FIS have a point that the sport has so few medalled nations in the last decades, but in other hands they still keep in the olympics sports like Equestrian, diving or table tennis where even less nations medal for almost centuries now
    • I was just doing my prediction on the other thread, and then I calculated... I had 21 Gold, 8 Silver, 15 Bronze.  Probably a little too hopeful.   Oops!  (And I didn't even think I was being too optimistic as I was filling it out...guess so...)
    • This should be included in the Olympics soon. Every single event that’s added to the program is a positive thing.
