Joan Barreda Bort wins today's stage 2 in Dakar. This marks his 28th bike stage win, which puts him 3rd all time. I can't fathom how in all his appearances his best overall result is 5th... Surely the best bike rider without a podium finish, maybe even without a win. Let's hope he won't DNF again and finish this year.

These daily Eurosport magazines remind just how much i love Dakar and what a highlight it is every January. It's a shame they can't show live coverage through the day.

At the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia, a French racecar had a bomb blast outside an hotel.

The 24 Hours of Daytona were claimed by the Meyer Shank Acura, with drivers Tom Blomqvist, Oliver Jarvis, Simon Pagenaud and Hélio Castroneves.

 

The LMP2 winner was DragonSpeed with drivers Devlin DeFrancesco, Eric Lux, Colton Herta and Pato O'Ward.

 

The GTD Pro winner was the Pfaff Porsche with drivers Matt Campbell, Mathieu Jaminet and Felipe Nasr.

There was a good dice between the Porsches in the closing stages. Pfaff only won it on the last lap after #2 Porsche spun in wheel-to-wheel battle.
