I can't believe this. :champion:

Well, that was a lie in fact, after seeing them on day 1 I just knew they'll do something big. :p

Switzerland secures a medal, but drops to 3rd place after Guerdat round.

And that's a big relief for the hosts as Fredricson brings them the silver. :yes

I'm afraid that individual battle won't be as exciting though. I just don't see Fredricson having any penalties (much like Ward during his unprecedented win at Omaha WC final). :p

Cian O'Connor, what can I say but wow!!   Always delivering when we need it most and the pressure is at its maximum. The whole team were amazing tonight!! Finally a good day!!!! :bounce:

Good Luck was indeed a good luck charm :)

And it's a victory with a fence in hand! Looks like Rodrigo Pessoa has found the key.

Is IT the same format as in the Olympics or do they keep all weeks score in the final?

remember that Fredriksson was the only one without penalties in Rio but was not fast enough in the jump of so he "only" got a silver

Yeah, I know. For me Fredricson deserved that gold much more...

Thankfully, that silly format is used only at the Olympics. Penalties are carried through at both Europeans and World Equestrian Games.

I can't put it into words but this feels so amazing. I have so many bitter experiences as an Ireland fan and not just in equestrian (but especially in equestrian) and I really needed a night like this for so long to lift the spirits. Just great!!! :)

    • The story of  boxer Dmitrijs Avsijenkovs and his incredible 100%, 29 fight knockout record.    Unfortunately.....   Boxer who was knocked out 29 times in 29 fights finally gave up on his disastrous career
    • apparently our NOC rejected the winter sport federation request to send a bigger delegation.   they published a list of just 14 athletes. 8 in CC skiing, 2 in Alpine and 4 in SkiMo. equal number of male and female athletes in each sport.
    • Yeah, I'm not entirely opposed of different host cities, but 24 hours of sports is not a good idea. Keep it to the 16-18 hour days.
    • Mayra Aguiar (Judo), 3-time Olympic bronze medalist, 3-time world champion.
    • Just a bump reminder that we have the annual Stadium Race from Schalke FC's ground in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday evening.
    • Since I didn't follow the Games that closely, two categories I'm having trouble finding candidates for are Comeback of the Year and the Olympic Spirit Award (the Paris 2024 award for individuals who exemplify the spirit of sportsmanship at the Games or have shown great determination in overcoming obstacles). If you guys have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.      Comeback of the Year   Adam Peaty (Swimming) Tom Daley (Diving) Kristof Milak (Swimming) Matteo Berrettini (Tennis) Paula Badosa (Tennis)  Sunisa Lee (Artistic Gymnastics)     Olympic Spirt Award   Fariba Hashimi (Road Cycling) Flavia Saraiva (Artistic Gymnastics) Ellie Black (Artistic Gymnastics) Csanad Gemsi (Fencing) Silina Pha Aphay (Athletics) Sander Skotheim (Athletics) Cindy Ngamba (Boxing)
    • Have mercy, I can't last 18 days without sleep.
    • This might be unpopular but it would allow way more sports and quotas and cities to host at a lower cost.
