Stomach virus hits some of the athletes at the championships. Among those with problems are: Makwala, Hess, Magi, Harting, Storl plus other reported cases from teams Germany, Canada and Ukraine.

Andreas Kramer from Sweden as well. (Not official that it's him, but somebody is hit)

That sucks. Although in Makwala's case first I thought it was an excuse to skip the 200 yesterday, but later it turned out he wanted to run but IAAF said he couldn't..

Jared Tallent has withdrawn from the 50 km walk (he says because of an harmstring injury sustained while training in St. Moritz).

Mohammed Ahmed :CAN

Yeah, Canada obviously only accepted him and his family as a refugee because they saw the potential of a 10 year old boy. Would you rather he spend his entire life in a Kenyan refugee camp?

Sadly I think even a Kenyan refugee camp is better than living in Somalia, or at least can't be much worse. Farah Ahmed and Mead in that final all from Somalia immigrated for a better life

    • Not in modern times (believe it has happened back in the 19th century). The Social Democrats were rather close in the mid-30s, but generally it's been the Social Democrats as the largest getting challenged by either Venstre (the old, liberal party) or the Conservatives (though their latest peak was in the 80s). Keep in mind that most Danish governments have been minority governments. The latest government (well, it's still the government until the new one is formed) was the first one since the early 90s and only the 5th since the Second World War.
    • Always, when I go from the high mountains- Moena to Trento at the beginning of March, I could already feel spring - green all around, olive trees etc. A nice contrast.

    • It is interesting how it just feels 100% different than all of the rest   We had to go to a doctor in Bolzano and one in Trento, so that particular time we weren't there for very long, but driving back north after the visit in Trento felt like a relief, somehow     Same when driving back from Milan/Bergamo (where I said Bologna earlier, I meant Bergamo) towards Tramin/Termeno, despite certainly not living there it kind of felt like driving towards home
